Sure the new battery has power?
Did you put the battery in correct? are all contacts (in the amp and on the battery) clean and shiny?
Check all this, before you press the on button.
maybe. isolate it first. try using new battery. if the blinking lights stops, then it needs new battery. if the blinking do not stop check the power adapter maybe that is the defective. it did not give enough power to charge the battery.
Just to make sure: 1. With battery alone in notebook, and no power cable, do you get power?
2. With the battery taken out, and power cable plugged in, you do get power?
IF YES to the above two questions ... and u can get power using the power cable but not using the battery, then your battery is dead and u need a new one.
If it is working fine with a fresh battery then it is not a motherboard problem. It is either a bad ac adapter jack on the motherboard or the actual ac adapter cord is not working. Try cables2go.com as they have replacement ac adapters for almost everything under the sun. Hope this helps.
Your battery not able to hold a charge is a bad battery. Love your precise description & diagnoses. Wish others would describe their troubles as well as you!
