Screen is blacked out and requests lock code
Take the closed caption (c.c) off on the remote and the black box will go away.

If you've forgetten your lock code, just enter a new code.
Do This:
Press menu button.
Use arrows up or down to choose "Set Lock Code".
Use arrows left or right to operate.
The padlock icon appears.
Press Zero to access the lock code.
The first digit will be highlighted.
Use arrows left or right to select the number.
Use arrows up or down to move to the next digit.
Continue to follow these directions for all four numbers.
Use arrows up or down to Finish.
Use arrows left or right to Save your settings and exit.

I have a black box on the screen i see part of the tv program but not all. How do i get it off using my remote
Thanx Bill, but i set a new code and still cannot get low number channels. Starts at 7 and goes up and all is well but have to punch in 2 3 4 or 5 to get lower numbers. Auto Set-up will not add them. Tried it with v-chip on and v-chip off to no avail. They are checked in channel summary but don't work. Any ideas for this one. Thank you
