Maybe the 5hr. button is pressed? If so, the machine will wait 5 hours before it starts:)

My kenmore oasis washer has started leaking out water and flooding my floor. have you had any other complaints about this problem and how to fix it.

first of, you need to find out where the water is originating from, pull washer away from wall and look for water dripping. usually water leakage starts from pump. on this washer there is a circulation pump and a drain pump on bottom left and right side. check all hoses and enure that there is no pin holes started

Using for the first time and won't work

Hello Loulan,

This is a pretty common problem and the solution is quite simple. It’s caused by the drain hose siphoning water out of the washer tub. There are two common causes for siphoning and I’ll explain both of them below.

One cause for siphoning is simply that the drain hose discharge is below the fill level of the washer tub. This picture shows the minimum drain height needed to avoid siphoning.
123fa40.jpg

Another common cause for siphoning is not having an air break between the drain hose and the drain stand pipe. Usually, this isn’t a problem since the drain hose diameter is usually much smaller than the diameter of the drain stand pipe. But sometimes folks will inadvertently remove the air break by duct taping the drain hose to the stand pipe. They might do this because the drain hose keeps popping out of the stand pipe when the washer pumps out the tub. Other times, the drain hose might fit into the stand pipe with a tight interference fit.

Hope that helps...Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am here at your service.

During the spin cycles in the wash the machine makes a loud whining noise while spinning? As soon as the cycle is finished the problem goes away. Is this a faulty belt or what. Please help.

Either the belt or you transmission could be slipping and it making the belt work harder on a full load. Try running the spin cycle without water to see if you hear it. If you do then it is the belt, but if you only hear with water then it is your transmission.

I have an Electrolux EWD1477. I have been away for four months and I'm having problems with it. I set to do the quickwash30 program and press start, you hear the clicks, it might put some water in then...

My EWD1477 was doing this a year ago and I fixed it. Then it started doing it again a month ago and I seem to have cleared it again.

Firstly, remove the drain hose from where it is inserted into a laundry sink hole to make sure it is not blocked or sealed in with sludge.

Secondly, make sure the machine is empty of water and clothes and then turn the machine to off with the Program Selector Dial. Then turn off the power at the socket and remove the power plug and leave for five minutes.

Step 1: put the plug back in and turn the power back on.

Step 2: turn the selector switch to the right (Whites/Intensive). The green light of the Start/Pause button should be flashing and the green lights on for Prewash/wash, Rinses and Spinning. Don't press any other buttons or change any other settings.

Step 3: press the Start/Pause button and wait for the machine to empty any excess water. Press it again immediately after you hear water flowing into the machine OR two audible clicks. The machine is now in pause mode with the green light of the Start/Pause button flashing. Only the green light on the Prewash/Wash button should be on. Leave it in pause mode for 30 minutes and then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Step 4: If the Start/Pause button begins flashing, water stops flowing into the machine and the three green lights mentioned above are back on, turn the Program Selector Dial back to off, wait 10 seconds, and repeat the process above.

Step 5: If when you then turn the Program Selector Dial to Whites/Intensive and hear the two audible clicks, immediately press the Start/Pause button to set the machine in pause mode. Wait 30 minutes. Then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Hopefully the cycle will run without a problem.

DRAIN PROBLEM

Here's some things to check: The electric water pump on those machines can be stopped by objects that get under the machine- The pump has a "fan" on it, and I have seen numerous times where a sheet of fabric softener like "BOUNCE" will get sucked into the pump's fan and "strangle" it.
Follow these instructions: Starting with the machine OFF, take one finger and depress the water temperature adjustment button for DECREASE (arrow points DOWN) and hold it down, and while holding it down, turn the machine on by pressing the power button.
If you did it right, you should hear two quick BEEPS. Now release the buttons. This sets the machine in "technician mode"
Now press the REGULAR button (the cycle selector button for a REGULAR wash cycle)
You should hear the water pump start and the water should be going out the drain hose. If you hear a slight "HUM" then the water pump is jammed with either an object inside the tub or the aforementioned sheet of bounce or whatever. If you hear the pump start but the water seems to be recirculating back into the tub, then something is either caught in the machine's DIVERTER VALVE or the valve is physically broken. In rare instances, the machine control has a short and is powering up the diverter valve all the time rather than only when it is supposed to...

Aml 125 washer - washing for hours

i would never suggest working or attempting to work on a machine covered by guarantee but this sounds like there is a fault with the heat cycle, obviously the machine keeps tumbling until the heat reaches the right temperature, with a heat fault it will not advance, to test without removing screws etc, press any heat option button like economy or turn heat dial to no heat etc, see what happens next. hope i have helped, if so rate me please, please note most engineers know if a machine of that age has been worked on and this will void any guarantee

No water

Your problem sounds like a fill valve problem. This is what your fill hoses connect to on the back of your washer. It is an electric solenoid valve that is supposed to open when filling. However, sediments from hard water and well water have a tendency to clog them up to the point where they don't pass water any longer. Sometimes, the solenoid itself goes bad. A new valve usually runs about $20-$30. If you've checked your fill hoses and verified the household valves are working, then I recommend replacing the fill valve assembly in the washer. I hope this helps.
