Tv will not turn on

Check for the obvious - tv plugged in? power at receptacle? Fuse blown on power supply? Swollen, leaky caps or burnt resistors, open diodes on power supply?

Otherwise, you have a problem on one of your boards. Enter the exact symptoms on Google and you will get all sorts of blogs indicating where the source of the problem might be. Ditto for Utube.

Tv will not power up

Press the TV button or ON/OFF button while remote is in TV mode and there's a source of power to the outlet or outlet strip.

Make sure the TV is plugged in.

You might have tried to turn on the TV during the lamp cool-down. Wait a few moments and the picture will appear.

Has the power light on the front of the TV been blinking for one minute? If so, the lamp may be dead. Refer to the Power indicator
is blinking or flashing section below for more information.

When you first plug your TV into an outlet, the Power indicator on the front panel will light and blink for approximately 30 seconds
and then go off during the initialization of the TV. This happens only when the TV is unplugged and plugged back in. The TV can
only be turned on after the Power indicator goes off.

Check the wall receptacle (or extension cord) to make sure it is "live" by plugging in something else, such as a lamp.

Something might be wrong with your remote control. Press the POWER button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, check the
remote control solutions on page 53.

Multiple TV Setup might be set to the wrong option. Press MENU/OK on the front panel. Select Setup Options, then Advanced
Options, then Multiple TV Setup. Choose TV (default).

Samsung plasma won't turn on

Here's is what you need to look for when describing a problem for troubleshooting purposes:

0) What model is the TV (you've covered that)

1) Does the TV respond to command to turn on?
(yes - continue; no - 70% bad power, 30% bad main board)

2) Once it responds (clicks), does a front LED or other indication show that it turns on? It's OK if there's no display.

(that can be model specific and is not certain indication for anything until known what is specific for the model)

3) If such an indication comes up does it remain on until you act or does it go off by itself?
(Stays on - power supply likely good; turns off - power supply *may* be good, but not certain)

4) If the power indication stays on by itself can you make it go off by pressing the power button or do you have to disconnect from AC power?
(responds to power off - 90% power supply likely OK and 90% OK main board; does not respond to power off - 90% bad main board)

Here is a link for test/repair of the power supply of your TV, hope it would help:

TV: Sanyo 21 inch tube (about 10 years old) When TV powered on. When I try to manually or using remote bring picture on (i.e. by prg up or down), the power on indicator light starts flashing and nothing...

You have a power supply problem.
The microprocessor has its own supply and is not receiving a "hand shake" from the line output stage that in turn is not receiving and power from the power supply.
The chopper transistor will possibly be short circuit taking the feed resistor with it.
Check for dry joints everywhere and MAKE CERTAIN THE HT CAPACITOR HAS DISCHARGED!!!!!
Hope this helps.

SAMSUNG LN52B610 TV TURNED OFF BY ITSELF. CANT TURN TV ON. NO RED LIGHT ON TV FOR POWER. OUTLET WAS CHECKED AND HAS POWER. CORD IS IN GOOD CONDITION. PLUGS FIR SNUG IN...

Hello.
If you have multimeter available you can actually check if voltage present at the end of your power cord first.
If it's OK than you have to remove back cover from your TV and locate power supply board. It's very easy - it should be next to the power cord receptacle. First look for capacitors that have bulged tops instead of flat ones. If you locate any - replace them and check if it's going to take care of problem.
Right next to receptacle connection is fuse located and you have to check if it's open. Replace it if needed. If new fuse got blown right away - you have short in power supply board. If fuse is OK - connect power cord and using multimeter try to figure out if 5V is supplied from Power supply board to the main board (the one that have all inputs attached to it). If 5V is present but power LED in front of the TV is still dead - you could have problem with main board.
Best regards.

I have a sony lcd kf-60xbr800 no picture in any input or raster no picture in component only menu. i reset the set and still no picture. all tuner voltages ok. help [email protected]. thanks

(i) Make sure that the power cable from the TV is securely plugged into a functional wall outlet.
(ii) Then, check to see if the TV/Video setting is correct: when watching TV, it's set to TV, and when watching connected equipment, it's set to video 1,2,3, etc.
(iii) Check if the Parental control feature is activated. You can check it using the Parent menu.
(iv) If the LCD projection TV's power is ON, and LAMP indicator is flashing red then the lamp for the light source burns out. Replace the lamp with new Sony XL-2000U replacement lamp.
(v) If the LCD projection TV doesn't turn ON and a red light keeps flashing then the TV needs service.

Tv won't turn on

I assume you do not have any red light showing on the front of the TV to indicate it is receiving power? Again assuming the your mains electric supply is functioning & the fuse in the TV plug is ok, if there are no signs of life & then most likely a fuse in the power supply may have blown. If you have a multimeter you could remove the rear of the TV & check the fuses in the power supply, if these are ok then you will need to check any supply voltages coming from the power board. If one of the fuses are open circuit, check some of the doides or transistors for any short circuits. If you are not comfortable doing this, then it would be advisible to contact a repair service centre.
