Question about Panasonic DMR-ES40V DVD-Video Recorder
I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder, Model #DMR-ES40V. I tried to format some TDK DVD-RW DVDs to record some shows on satellite. When the disc start formatting, there is a thumping sound inside the component. The thumping sound do not sound every time when it is formatting. Although the formatting may be completed, the discs will not record. I think something is wrong with the Recorder itself. I have unplugged the unit and the formatting goes complete. Thanks for your response and technical assistance.
I kept formatting DVD's until I got the unit to work. Mainly, it was some DVD's I had earlier problems formatting. I tried two new DVD's (Maxell DVD-RW) and they worked thus far. I truly think the unit needs to be taken to authorized service center for evaluation or minor maintenance. My suggestion is to verify the DVD's will work with unit. Try to use better quality ones like TDK or Maxell. Thanks for responding to my problem. If I have others, I will contact you.
