If the "no water" light on your Scotsman ice maker is flashing, it means that the ice maker is not receiving a sufficient supply of water. There could be a few possible causes for this issue. Here are a few things you could try:

1. Check the water supply. Make sure that the water supply valve is turned on and that there is sufficient water pressure.
2. Check the water inlet valve. The water inlet valve is responsible for letting water into the ice maker. If the valve is faulty or clogged, it may not be allowing enough water to flow into the ice maker.
3. Check the water line. Make sure that the water line is not kinked or clogged.
4. Check the water pump. If the water pump is not working properly, it may not be delivering enough water to the ice maker.

If these steps do not help, there may be a problem with the ice maker itself. In this case, you may need to have the ice maker repaired or replaced.

1st check to see if fill tube is frozen that goes through back freezer wall to feed water to ice maker. If it is, thaw it and replace water valve. If not frozen, then you must determine if water valve or ice maker is bad. You must determine if Ice maker is sending voltage to valve. If it is, replace valve. If it's not, replace ice maker.

cheapest and up,, check for a frozen water line, defrost the entire unit, any of the components can be iced up, once defrosted,, if you still have a problem, then check the inlet valve ,

There are 2 solenoids, one controls the water dispenser the other controls the ice maker water supply. Follow the tubing down the back of the refrigerator to find the ice maker solenoid. If the line is frozen between the back of the refrigerator and the ice maker it won't make ice either. If the line is frozen you need to check to see if the solenoid is leaking, this allows a trickle of water to continously flow through the lina and freeze.

Ice maker must be on(arm up) .If the ice maker is turning and not getting water probably the solenoid valve is bad or the line between the valve and the ice maker is broken or frozen, if its frozen the valve is leaking and needs to be replace.For the ice maker to work the freezer must be working fine (freezing )But if everything is ok and the ice maker still dead(not turning) check if it's plugged in,right behind it and if this is ok the ice maker inside board is bad ,but replacing it is probably better to get a new one.

Check in two places either behind the fridge or under the cabnit where the water supply is. If not there then check up underneath th back of the fridge

Water solenoid to ice maker not working. Check with ohm meter..should NOT read open
Water line to Ice maker frozen solid. Look at water inlet to ice maker....is ice present in line?
Evaporator coils frozen over with ice. Will cause water line to freeze and unit will slowly thaw.
Try unplugging the unit for several hours and see if it starts to cool normally again. If it cools normally then check heater element and Defrost Thermostat.

I lifted the switch to turn ice maker off, left it like that for a couple of hours, then turned it back on. I checked it a couple of hours later....Making ice now....
