If there is a kick plate, why I say this is because Kenmore can be any kind.. So if there is a kick plate there will either be 2 or 3 screws to take off then you will see the pump, if there isn't a kick plate you will have to go through the back of the unit.

Some how there is debris like socks or something small getting down and blocking your drain plug. take the bottom panel off your machine by removing the 3 (1/4") screws at the very bottom of your washer. once the panel is removed you'll see a 1 1/2" PVC white valve plug. open that by turning it to the left untill open (WARNING ALL THE WATER WILL DRAIN OUT THOUGH THIS PLUG) remove debris and you all set.
it stands for longer than normal drain interval,press "pause/cancel" twice to clear, if it returns then look for obstructions in the water drain from the basket all the way to the drain in the house,or possibly it could be a bad washer drain pump
