You need to re-configure the Wireless router. If you have the Wireless router settings back up, restore the settings from the back up.

Reset password

The Motorola WR850G is a wireless router that attaches to a cable or DSL modem. The WR850G has two reset options.
Users can reset the router and retain the settings or reset it back to factory specifications to clear all settings.
Resetting the router can help with network issues such as dropped connections.
It can also resolve situations where the user has made changes to the router's settings and can no longer connect to the router.

Look at the back of the Motorola WR850G router and locate the reset button. It is a red button located to the left of the Ethernet ports.
Press the reset button on the Motorola WR850G router, and release it immediately to reset the router without changing the settings.
Press the button on the Motorola WR850G router and hold it for longer than five seconds to reset the router to factory specifications.
This setting resets the router's IP address and subnet mask along with the user ID and password you use to log in to the router.

I recommend you RESET the Linksys bacl to the default settings and reconfigure the Linksys.
To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of therouter with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to beconfigured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in allthe laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wirelesssettings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wirelessrouter.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default PW (write it down and putit in a safe place)

I had my laptop stolen and I am unable to conect to my wireless router with my new laptop. Router name is Netgear. am unable to put in the security key? Lyn

There should be a recessed reset button on the back of the router. You'll have to push it with a ballpoint pen or paper clip. hold the button for 30 sec and it will reset back to the factory defaults. you'll have to set up the security again.
best of luck.

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya Support
I am Michelle, and i will be assisting you regarding the issue
Try using a pen or paper clip to press the reset button on the back of the device. Keep the button pressed until the lights in the front of the Netgear router start flashing. The router will reboot after resetting the configurations.
Open a internet explorer browser window and enter 192.168.1.1
the Netgear router configuration console will open and will prompt you to enter username and password
Enter the default username and password. Now that settings have been reset, you can use the Netgear global default username and password listed below:
username: admin
password: 1234 or password
Unplug the router's power cable if these passwords do not work. If you are still unable to login, the router may not have been reset. While the router is unplugged, hold the reset button for 20 seconds before plugging in the power cord. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to gain access to the router, using the new admin username and password

Wireless network has disappeared

Sadly they do go, sounds like you've tried the best solutions. You can try 1 more, power cycle everything, this time, hit the little reset button on the back of the router, and see if you can connect through wifi after if. If not, sounds like it's fried. Use a surge suppressor on your modem, router, all that good stuff, lightning can easily take electronics out if you don't have the proper protection.

Save yourself some time, go grab a wireless N router for under $100, the increase in range alone is well worth the investment.

My wii and my laptop no longer are able to connect wirelessly

Well one of two things happened, somebody got on your network and changed it, or more likely, let me guess, you hit the reset button on the wireless router?
well the settings are back to default now so the customized wireless username and pass you were using is now gone.
you need to wire to the router either way and reprogram it.
Call the router company for help, it's easy they'll talk you through it.
