How long has it been since you updated the firmware on your unit? Try updating and see if this helps. Also, keep in mind the receiver on the C330 is not as sharp as on other units like the C550 and some of the Nuvis. You may have problems while under overpasses, between large trees or buildings, etc. This is just a design limitation of the unit.

Poor reception

There are many causes for poor reception on a cb radio one cause may be poor or poorly assembled antenna, a good antenna should be of highest gain and put up as high as possible ,An omnidirectional antenna or Ground plane will hear moderately well
in all directions but a directional antenna or Yagi will hear great only in the direction it is turned you will certainly have to decide what you or your homeowners association will allow.
Also and finally The sun is a major factor in communications Propagation sometimes no mater what your setup the reception is terrible.

Antenna

Really tough to get perfect reception with Rabbit ears. If you can somehow feed the line outside a lot of the times I have found that it helps improve signal reception

How can i get my garmin nuvi 1300 to pick up satellites?

Hello,

GPS satellite reception is best achieved when the unit is outdoors and has a good clear view of an unobstructed sky. The majority of the GPS satellites orbits are around the equator so if you are in the northern hemisphere, the best reception would be achieved with a clear southern sky.

I have a 1970's Sony AM Receiver ICR-9. Reception is poor and sounds almost like it is receiving on another band. It has been a great radio and would like to retain. Bill

Do you use an indoor antenna ? Nowadays, with all gear around, like micro-waves receptors, strong motors, satellites, etc., reception becomes quite poor, unless you use an external antenna, properly set to catch broadcast stations. FM reception particularly has its signal much improved in that way. Correct demodulation requires a good an somewhat large outdoor antenna. Hope I could help. Good Luck.

Ique 3600 antenna reception problem

How long does it try to find the satellites? If it trys for a half hour of more with no results, the antenna may be broken. I have read in other forms that people have added an external antenna and their units would then work, evfen with the built in antenna broken.

Lost signal from the satellite

Signal Fade And Loss ~ Important, especially during winter!

Keep in mind that satellite broadcasts occur directly from fixed satellites in space to users. UPLINKS TO that satellite can happen from almost anywhere in the world! This includes broadcasts from remote studios, satellite vans and trucks.

Even signals from the main providing studios are susceptible to weather conditons even tho they have huge, high-gain transmitting dishes!

Weather is a major factor for both the uplinks and downlinks! Storm clouds can block the signals anywhere in the signal path(s). Rain clouds do too ~ even if it's not raining yet. Water-laden clouds make some of the BEST signal attenuators.

So one may have a gorgeous day in San Diego (let's say), but storms back east could trash satellite reception at his location and potentially everywhere else!

As you know, weather conditions all over the US are changing constantly with many severe storms occurring this past week and during any winter. In fact this week there was total signal loss on several satellites and I suspect storms back east were a big factor.

So it could have just been issues of timing for you. The UPLINK had intermittent problems with signal paths semi-crippled by weather... YOUR weather was CLEAR, but your reception was far from problem free ~ only because of weather problems elsewhere.

If you see intermittent satellite reception do check out the weather... especially back east.

Hope this helps!
