Working on friend's machine - - he purchased it used - - it has never worked for him - he has had numerous repair calls made on the device - has replaced the control unit, etc. Still - -the gravitron does not work .
I am attempting to fix it using the owner's manual - - after switching plugs so that the compressor and solenoid are now plugged into the correct plugs on the control unit, powering up, getting to the ''Attract '' Mode, I PRESS ''2020'' ENT. [Nothing shows in display windows as I enter those digits - -don't know if I should see any display while entering test code or not.]
After ENT, the display reads ''220'', the compressor starts, and continues to run- -[ I believe that the ''220'' is a weight setting that the owner entered during one of many attempts to get the machine running.] As the compressor continues to run, the display never changes from the ''220''. The platform rises after a bit of time, comressor continues to run, and display still reads 220.
This continues until I press ENT - - then the compressor stops, and the platform returns to the low position.
Also, in the control box, I see NO gain control in the newly replaced power module.
I suspect that I may occur more glitches along the way, but I have not attempted further tests until I can resolve the leak test and the GAIN CONTROL ADJUSTMENT.

I don't have a solution but have a 4400CL with the same problem.....does anyone have an idea what is wrong? I called the Sportsmith tech assistance and was advised that the panel is no longer working and it is very expensive to replace. It does work int he manual mode. The tech support at Nautilus said that the battery was bad and not providing enough power but the tech at Sportsmith said that could not be it because there is resistance to the pedals on start up. Any thoughts
