I accidently disconnected my lexmark x6100 printer from my compuer I don't have the software, how can I reconnect to my computer?

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
4. Reboot computer.
5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

To scan documents to your computer, you will need the Lexmark OCR scan software which can be installed using only the installation software CD that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X6100 Series Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.

Make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer. The software allows you to scan your documents to PDF file. The software is only available on the installation disc that came with your Lexmark printer. If you don't have the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

Go to the lexmark website and download the software for free. Once you download the software and drivers, reboot your pc and it should work fine.

Go to the lexmark site and download the software. You can put it on your computer directly and once you have it you can burn it to disk if you want.

It looks like the X6100 series of printers are supported on Vista starting with model # 6150 through 6190 Pro.

Based on the above information, I would say that the X6100 is not supported on Vista.

Did you try to download the software drivers from the manufacturers site?

The Printer is a Old Printer thats y the software which you have may not work......
In this case go ahead and download the software from the following Link:

How to Install BVRP FaxTools Software on the Lexmark X6130/X6150/X6160/X6170/X6190 Pro ID:ENUS8694
The FaxTools software is on the Lexmark X6100 Series Installation CD. During installation of the printer driver, you will be asked whether you want to install it. If you choose to cancel this option during the installation process, you can install the software separately as follows:

1. Insert the Lexmark X6100 Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. When the Install Software screen appears, click Cancel.
3. Right click on the Start button and select Explore.
4. Click on the plus sign (+) beside My Computer .
5. Click on the plus sign (+) beside the Lex X6100 CD.
6. Double-click on the FAX folder.
7. Double-click on the relevant language folder on the right-hand side.
8. Double-click on the Setup executable. (Note: The correct setup icon is the one with two white arrows on a grey foreground.)
9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
