The problem you are having is a vertical deflection problem. The screen is being compressed to a thin white line. It's probably a defective vertical output module or transistor. This part is not too expensive. Less likely would be a vertical deflection coil, which would be more expensive because its usually glued to the picture tube and harder to replace. You'll need to take your set to service center to have it serviced.

Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.
Nope. You have a vertical problem. Please post the model number from the back of the set and I'll provide you with the part numbers and cost. I can also give you more details on what to change and how.
2 yr old 42 inch plasma.screen goes black, sometimes only half screen, sound is on.it does it after 1 hr of viewing, theres a greenish line in the middle of the black sreen when that happens,
pls help.
If the screen control for the green picture tube is set too high, then the colors will be greenish, there will be green where there should be black and there will be fine curved lines (retrace lines) in the picture. If you feel confident then you can open the set and look for the focus block which has the 3 focus and 3 screen controls. One row is labeled Screen and the green control will be the center one. Try turning that control down a little and see is the green background and curved lines go away. If they do not go away then there is something more serious wrong. If you do not have experience working on projection sets then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
