I plug in the Nextar MA797 mp3 player and when I go to My Computer and click on the icon for it, it reads "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." I plug it into my MacBook and it won't even show up. Any suggestions?

hi what you need to do is check what format the music is you trying to put on their then you need to convert it to mp3. Most often its wma so you need to convert these files to mp3 your best option is using google and type in convert music from wma to mp3 this will then list loads of sites that will convert the music for you for free then transfer these to your mp3 player then you should find they will all work
well, on the instruction manual, what size is the screen? mine is 128x128 so in the resolution on the converter (any) i click that resolution and then it should work
Video files need to be converted into the correct format in order to work on the player. This Nextar uses the AVI format for video and you will need to ensure that you have converted your files into this format.
For a good breakdown on how to do this and a link to a free AVI convertor please view this FixYa Tip. Video issues are discussed at bottom of that page.
after u plug it in to u r pc and u r pc recognizes it
there will be option at bottom right(tool bar) to safely remove hardware
click on it
wait for 10-15 secs
u r mp3 starts charging
Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturers website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.
I just had the same problem. Go back to your menu, make sure you are on your play music icon and instead of clicking on the center button with play and pause on it click on the menu button again to make it access the folder. You should see the word music come up across the screen once it's chosen.
download the disc that came with it no matter what windows/mac/lenux version you have.
drag it all out to your desktop.
look through the folders for a program with a rocket ship icon.
open it.
plug your mp3 player into the computer.
select "firmware upgrade" on the computer.
select the newest upgrade.
open it.
then click "upgrade firmware" and it'll be fixed for the system error, but you'll have to re-download the music.
