SOURCE: sanyo dp42746 low volt power problems
The power supply is failing, or there is another circuit area that is pulling too much current, and the supply is going in to protect mode.
This would require proper troubleshooting by an experienced tech. If the problem is very involved, or the tech is not familiar with the set, he will require the service manuals and service information.

SOURCE: Have a Sanyo Plasma TV
Hello,
Yep. The power supply in Sanyo Plasmas are generally prone to failures. It could be a failure in the panel not priming, but I doubt it. Turn the lights off in the room, then try to turn it on. If you see the screen faintly flash, the panel is priming, but it is not coming on. If the screen is lit, but is still "black," then it is a control or digital board. If it is totally black with no light at all, then it doesn't entirely rule out the first two, but makes a power supply failure more likely.
They usually have a lot of heat damage to them. If you have tried unplugging it for 15 minutes, then plugging it back in and it still doesn't work, the it is most likely a secondary in the power supply.
I hope this helps you...

I just bought a Sanyo DP50747 50 inch plasma. When I pause the tv, then push play (even 1 minute or less) the sound does not start as soon as the picture starts back. I have picture first and no sound for 4 or 5 seconds then the sound continues from that point.
