Please Help. I have a 56" DLP Samsung and the lights just flash

Please Help. I have a 56" DLP Samsung and the lights just flash. When I try to turn the TV on the lamp light and the standby temp light just flash and keep on flashing, but the TV never comes on. Any advice.

Thank You so much for your input. Just a quick question. If the lamp looks in good condition where the inside is not broken can it still be bad. Just wondering.

so there was a loud humming noise so I thought it was the fan but it was the color wheel. Would this make the TV not turn on and make the lamp and standby light just flash.

Sounds like the lamp might be burned out. The Lamp should be replaced every couple years. If they are not replaced they will eventually burn out. Replacement is not that difficult and just requires a screwdriver. The lamp is located at the back of the DLP TV on the left side. The lamp can be purchased online from Samsung for about $130 dollars. You might be able to find a aftermarket one for less. Just use your telivision's model number located on the right side of the TV on sticker to cross reference the bulb that is needed or there might be a sticker on the back at the lamp housing that has the lamp part number. And make sure to spend the extra money and get the Lamp with the housing together. You can buy just the lamp for cheaper but that will require you to remove the old lamp from the housing and they are fragile. Much easier installation with the housing/lamp combo.

Yes it can be just like a regular light bulb. The manufacturer suggests that the lamp be replaced every two years. But some people watch TV more/less than others. A sign that the lamp is going bad is the TV image will be a lot less vivid. Then sometimes the lamp will just stop working.

Yes it could. So the color wheel is stuck? Motor to turn the color wheel might be bad.

My samsung 5067w dlp tv does not turn on, the timer, lamp and temp/standby lights keep blinking. Please help!! Thanks

First check the color to see if its spinning or not. Replace it if neccessary. If that's ok, replace lamp and ballast.

Samsung Dlp completely shuts off and then all three lights flash

Sounds more like the TV is overheating. The lamp cooling fan may be seized or not spinning fast enough. If the TV gets hot enough to trip the thermal, it could rupture the lamp.

Samsung DLP TV time, temp and lamp lights blinking... won't turn

Les,
I'm not a TV repair guy but my owners manual states that when all three LED's or lights on the front of the TV are flashing, that the lamp needs to be replaced. Might want to look into this. Good luck!
