Brother HL 1440 Printer Density Adjustment

My Brother HL 1440 is printing too light. How do I darken the print? Toner and Ink are new enough, factory original, etc. My question more precisely is: Is there a way to adjust print quality from lighter to darker with this printer? If so, how do you do it?
Thanks,
HT

I have combed the manual for directions about how to adjust printer density, and I cannot find them anywhere. Your answer was no help whatsoever. So I will ask again:

How do I physically adjust my Brother HL 1440 printer so that it will print darker?

    Thanks again,,

    Hank T.

This site becomes worthless when people post marketing instead of answers. "it's in the manual" click here to buy or "just call our pay for service" are NOT solutions. Odds are these places do not even have or know the answer. This is *****, stop allowing these scammers to post that garbage. Answer the questions or do not post.

Changed the drum & ink cartridge in HL-1440-ink bleeds on edge

Hi there,

This problem is often caused by spilled toner. Open the printer, carefully remove the cartridge, and give it a few bursts of compressed air. Often running several pages or type through will also fix this. If it persists, replace the toner cartridge.

Hope this initial info/idea helps. Let me know for any clarifications.

The alarm light is blinking and the toner was changed 3 days ago. Minimal printing since then

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group. Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them.

A new laser could help, but you should make sure the toner save is turned off, it makes toner last longer by making light prints. Toner save is set in printer properties in the control panel

My HL 1440 is printing very light. The toner cartridge is pretty new. Is there something I can do to get it to printer darker?

Go into start- Printers and faxes and right click on the printer, then go to properties.

Depending on the printer (it varies greatly) there should be a tab at the top for printing quality or something similar. You can adjust the ink level there.

Printer won't print

According to the operation manual: If alarm light and data light blink every 5 seconds- TONER LOW (purchase more toner and have it ready when the 'toner empty' is indicated). If alarm light and data light stay lit- TONER EMPTY (replace toner cartrige with new one).

Brother HL-1440

(blinking every 5 seconds) Toner Low Indicates that the toner cartridge is nearly empty. Purchase a new toner and have it ready for when Toner Empty is indicated. (solid) Toner Empty Replace the toner cartridge with a new one.
