Our hotpoint bf168 has stopped working. The rinse

if the machine is old the front panel need to be service.Probably the front panel is experiencing partial contact with he control buttons.

I use to hhave to do that my was filter was blocked

Make sure the water is on, then load the racks. Fill the dispenser with the appropriate amount of dishwasher detergent. Press the On/off button on the right of the washer control panel. Press the wash program selector (the leftmost button) until the desired program type (icons to the left of the button) has the LED light up. Then close the door. See the manual for delayed cycles and adding salt for the water softener.

hmmm.... could be the controler. or a stuck valve... have you tried to reset it? turn off power and turn it back on...

Sounds like a cold water supply fault which could be the solinoid valve, the water turned off, a kinked or twisted cold supply pipe or a wiring fault. Check out the error code sequence here. You never said what make or model you have (the error codes are only for Hotpoint, Creda and Indesit machines)

If the water is not getting hot, this will probably stop the programme advancing .Check heater.
Plz rate solution to prob.

HI that part you need is called a piston and nut. located at the back of the tub in siside at the bottom, under the long screen . remove long screen. in the centre is where the piston & nut is located . unscrew part & replace. thanks the appliance doc. if happy with my answer, pleae accept. thanks

hi, just found this forum after searching the web 4 a solution to my hotpoint DWF50 problem.
I came down this morning to a machine which base tray was full of water and lights 3 ECO & 4 Fast flashing.
Anyway my solution was as i had seen a hotpoint engineer do once before was to press the start/reset button trip the catch, to fool the machine into thinking the door is closed then put in a program, press start, the machine hums slightly but doesnt do anything then after removing the large filter from the tray at the bottom underneath the lower basket insert a length of wire, with a loop on the end (Tip i used a wire coat hanger from the dry cleaners) poke in ythe hole that the dirty water drains from, after a bit of poking about the pump started working and the water drained away. Tip place a hook at the other end of your wire impliment to put your finger in to stop the wire getting caught in the pump mechanisim. After wards u have to hook back the door catch to the normal position, Tip another piece of the coat hanger with a right angled piece at the end will do this. This worked for me, saved me some money esp as D & G insurance ran out 2 weeks ago.....stu

Hi ya, just a quick suggestion, have you cleaned the filter on the front of your machine?? My machine did this and it was only when i cleaned the fluff and the 5 pence pieces from this filter it stopped, Hope it helps

there is a small access panel in all front loaders.  there is probably a coin stuck in the compartment.  this will stop the water pump operation correctly
