front screen freezes that says walkman

  • caibee Oct 16, 2008

My mp3 is stuck on the "Ok to disconnect" screen . The solution to reformat when it is plugged in doesn't work because the drive letter does not appear in "my computer". Reset button is useless - it feels like there isn't anything resisting the pin when I insert it.

Exactly the same problem - does not show in the list of drives, so I cannot reformat it.

Try reformatting the player by plugging it in your computer and when it's drive letter appears, right-click then format. It will erase all music files so you need to put the music back again and see if the problem persist. If it still persists, it might be the music source when copying. Try using direct drag and drop instead of syncing in music from a media player.

My gpx mw240s says error and i cannot play any music. What else should i try doing?

If your GPX MW240S MP3 player is displaying an error message and not playing any music, there are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Reset the player: Sometimes resetting the MP3 player can fix the error. To reset the GPX MW240S, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, release the button, and then turn the player back on.
  2. Check the music files: Ensure that the music files you are trying to play are in a compatible format with the GPX MW240S. The player supports MP3 and WMA formats, and if your files are in a different format, they will not play. You can convert the files using a free online converter.
  3. Update the firmware: If the player's firmware is outdated, it may cause errors while playing music. You can update the firmware by downloading the latest version from the GPX website and following the instructions.
  4. Check the storage space: If the MP3 player's memory is full, it may cause errors. Delete some files from the player to free up space.
If none of these solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with the player, and it may need to be repaired or replaced.

My mp3 player says not enough space to play music but idk how to fix it?

Player needs a finite amount of memory to operate, try deleting some files to create virtual elbow room.

Freezing

Using the instructions below try Cleanup first, if that doesn't work... (if you have a backup of all your music on your computer), try the format option

This is from Creative's website:
Zen V Plus and Zen V
  1. Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.
2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.
3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.

It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All) Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.
