I cleaned my Breville grinder and tried to put it back together but the cog won't fit back in/lock. It's loose and the bean container won't turn even though it's aligned.

Same issue, i.e can't work out how to re-engage the cog after removing it to clean. Seemed like it would just turn back into place ..but no. Anyone have a solution?

Top Burr Stuck on Smart Grinder Pro - How can i remove it ?

Safety Tip: To prevent any potential mishaps, ensure sure your grinder is fully off and unplugged before using it. Also, if you haven't used it in a while, make sure it's cool to the touch.
Let the Bean Hopper open. Take off the bean hopper from your grinder's top. This is going to reveal the top burr.
Take the Upper Burr Carrier Off: An upper burr carrier is usually used to hold the top burr in place. It is necessary to take out the upper burr carrier. Depending on the kind of your grinder, the precise procedure may change, but generally speaking, it entails undoing a few screws or tabs that secure it. In general, follow these steps:
a. Check the upper burr carrier for any visible screws or tabs. Usually, they're close to the edges.
b. To release the tabs or loosen the screws, use the proper equipment (usually a screwdriver). To prevent breaking the grinder, use gentleness.
c. After the upper burr carrier is released from its locking mechanism, carefully pull or slide it out.
Lift Out the Top Burr: The top burr can now be removed after the upper burr carrier has been taken out. The burr might be secured in place by tiny clips or notches, so proceed with caution and gentleness.
Clean and Maintain: After removing the top burr, you can give the grinder and its parts a thorough cleaning. Make sure you adhere to the cleaning and maintenance guidelines provided by the manufacturer. This often entails cleaning the grinder's parts, brushing off coffee grinds, and correctly reassembling it.
Reassemble: Carefully put the grinder's parts back together in the opposite order after cleaning. Verify that the upper burr carrier is correctly positioned and that all screws and tabs are firmly in place.
Plug in and Test: After the grinder has been put back together, plug it in and make sure it is operating properly.

How do I dismatle the grinder on my Krups espresseria automatic

I suspect that as you have only managed to remove 2 screws from the beans container that this is going to be quite a task for you but here goes.
1) Remove the button from grinder adjustment by pulling or levering upwards
2) Lift beans container off
3) Remove front trim panel (square frame like a picture frame at front) Done by removing drip dray and thumping frame upwards with heel of your hand.
4) Undo 2 outer screws at top front of top housing
5) Undo screw in middle at back under where beans container was
6) Lift off top housing, you may need to rock & flex it a bit to release rear clips
7) Put knob back in & turn grinder adjustment fully right (clockwise)
8) You now need to mark that part of the grinder top that goes between knob and grinder so that you will be able to put it on exactly as it is now. Then remove that part from the top of the grinder
9) Now you can turn the top of the grinder anti clockwise further than the adjustment knob was moving it.
10) Once you have turned it as far as it will go you will be able to lift (with wriggling) the top part of the grinder out.
11) Cleaning out will be done with a small screwdriver and vacuum cleaner with nosey parker attachment fitted.

Hi my breville barista express does not grind the beans, and the "single/double" light is blinking, what is the problem?

My wife tried to make my coffee and long story short, she removed the lid to "move the beans around"..The grinder stopped working and the filter size lights began flashing intermittently. After taking the whole thing apart, the only REAL problem is that the lock mechanism inside the hopper came unlocked. So put your machine back together and "lock" the hopper. The lights will stop flashing...lets hope

My machine blinking on steam, the wand does not want t o steam, the espresso does not pour. The knob is turned on stand by , but still some steaming noise comes, but no steam comes from the wand, nor...

When it is blinking on steam it means it is preparing the unit for steam. When the steam light goes solid your unit is ready to make steam.

  • Turn from standby to steam then wait for steam light to go solid.
  • When solid steam wand will begin dribbling then spitting out water, which will then turn to steam.
  • When it begins to steam, turn back to standby. NOTE: you only have 6 seconds before steaming turns off.
  • place steaming wand in jug and turn from standby back to steam.
You will hear pumping noises when you turn off your steam, because it releases the steam and puts the excess water in to the drip tray.
  • make sure your bean hopper is properly locked in to the unit. Grinder won't work if hopper not locked in.
  • Make sure your water filter has been prepped and locked securely in to the reservoir and your reservoir is filled.
  • Use fresh beans.
  • Sounds funny but use good quality water, do not use ordinary tap water. Make sure it is filtered or use bottled water (cooler bottles).
  • Try to grind your beans to a good consistancy.
  • Breville recomends about 10kg tamping pressure, use a set of scales to check the feel.
  • Tamp to about 3-5 mm below rim of grouphead (portafilter). Or the tamp has a guide on the side, that silver side on the tamp is the tamp line. Pretty vauge about that in the book.
If all else fails go to www.breville.com.au and check your model and watch some of the vid clips.

Attemps to gind but no beans seem to get through Then the display indicates 'add beans' although it is full

Machine thinks there are no beans because it is not grinding. Most likely the grinder is blocked. The common causes are a small foreign object, a stale hard bean and moisture (either from water spillage or moist beans). The first thing you should do is vacuum ALL the beans out, set it to the coarsest grind setting and run the grinder a few times ( with no beans). Then put a small amount of fresh beans (make sure they are dry and not from fridge or freezer) in and try again. Give it a few goes. If it still wont grind have a good look down there, if it looks wet let it dry out for a while and try again. If none of thes easy tips help you will have to remove the top grinder burr and clean both burrs. Good luck.

I cleaned my Breville grinder and tried to put it back together but the bean container will not fit back in. Please help.

This might be it. On the bean container there is a white dart and the word 'align'. The same dart and word appear on the top of the grinder. Align the two darts and the bean container should drop right in.

How do I remove the burr grinder for cleaning? Saeco Royal Exclusive

This is not a hard procedure, but you have to feel comfortable with DIY projects.
First empty the bean container. Vacuum out any remaining beans. Remove the philips screws from the hopper. Lift the hopper off. Vacuum any loose beans out. Remove the rubber gasket. You may clean this with a mild soap solution. Remove the grind adjustment lever- lift straight up with index fingers under the flange. Turn the outer ring with the holes counterclockwise, lift the center ring with the ears straight up when the outer ring is loose enough. The ring with the ears is the upper burr. Clean with a brush. Don't use water or other solutions. Vacuum the beans chamber and brush clean. Replace the upper burr ring matching the ears with the grooves. Turn the outer ring clockwise until it stops. Pull the inner ring to be sure it is locked. Now turn the outer ring back 13 clicks. Replace the rubber gasket. Replace the grinder adjustment lever- drop the lever flange inside on the outer ring with the lever grip loop over the top at #4. Press the flange with two fingers while supporting the outer ring from below. This seems tricky, but be patient. Replace the hopper and screws. Do any grinder adjustments while grinder is running with beans, it may take a few shots to be back at your preference grind! Good luck!
