Broken USB connection port on WD 500GB Mybook

I was trying to fix a bent USB connection port on my 500 GB WD Mybook and broke it loose. I have to hold the USB cord in place in a certain position just for it to turn on now, and it won't read now on the computer...how do I fix this myself or for as little cost as possible? I have SO many files, pictures, music, etc on there that I can't replace it.

HOW TO CHANGE 320GB SATA HDD TO 500GB SATA

Yes. The case doesn't care what size the drive is. The computer is just asking for the USB driver for the case. Check the WD site for the driver for the model of MyBook that you have. That should cover it.

WD Hard Drive Not Detecting

Yes, this can be done via the user web interface, by typing in mybookworld or wdstorage into the web browser and the shared storage manager should come up. If you go to general setup there should be an option to update network settings.

How do you set up multiple WD Anywhere users on the network to share the same MyBook World Edition

hey,

-No WD Anywhere allows 5 users I think.
This could only be the solution, if you installed WD Anywhere on other PCs before

Check out the MioNet site, think they give options for new users.
if this is not the problem, I don't have a solution by now.

bye
