IPv6 is upgraded from IPv4 (Internet protocol).. Its implemented in 1994 this adres is stored in DNS, it is no way connection with the printer, when the printer is connected through lan net work, auto IP adress will assign by the DNS server depend up on the settings.. you can change the desire IP adress with the family range. If the printer is not showing IPv6 adress, system administrator can help you in this regards depens upon their permissions. Selected printer IP adress ahould be with in the family range and no IP conflict definately printer will work..
I dropped my Dell Insiron too. It seems to have had the same result as your's. I had to get a new motherboard (system board), before it would work again.
Most probably its the problem with the autonet ip address where the computer picks a bad ip address. If your internet service provider has DHCP enabled you cannot put the manual IP address. If its a new problem try system restore, uninstalling and reinstalling networkdrivers. resetting winsock.(search google)
If your laptop has a wireless card built in - or external, you will be able to get the wireless signal. You need to open your wireless dialog - Start > My Network Places > View Network Places
We are using software called Brainware Columbus to do Remote OS Deployment, Software Deployment & Remote Support. We have had LANDesk installed on all our computers, and since we uninstalled LANDesk and installed McAfee 8.7i Enterprise, we have had some difficulties with some computers where they show they are connected to our Wired Lan, but their IP settings have dissappeared, the settings are blank. When you click on the repair option for the network, it gives an error straight away, and we have also tried Uninstalled & Reinstalling the NIC, that also doesnt solve the problem. Please help
let you router allocate the ip addresses manually by enabling DHCP and restart the router, and remove the usb adapter from the usb port and reconnect it, but when you right click on the taskbar on the little pc icons for your connection click enable WZC windows wireless Zero configuration as this will dissable the software you got with the usb adapter and hopefully make the connection more stable, but ensure you have a strong signal.
