Whilst on the rinse cycle, it just keeps on filling with water and does not stop. If I am out, it is just waisting water all of a sudden. I have to physically turn the dial to Spin for it to stop filling with water. What do you suggest? This machine is fantastic, I have had it since 1999 and don't want to let go. Is there an agent in the UK who can help me with this problem?

Easy fix, no parts needed mate. Simply look for a loose hose going to the water level switch. The small vacuum hose from tub to switch vibrates off from time to time OR sediment gets into the tube where it attaches at the base of the tub. Remove the hose at the switch in the control console and blow through it to clear any blockage and reattach firmly. Remove the water and retry. With any luck the washer will resume normal duty's. Good Day!

My washing machine stopped working in mid-cycle. No agitation is going on and I could not drain it but putting to spin.

Make sure the washer fills with cold water from the beginning of the cycle because most washers have a cold only rinse cycle and if your cold water valve is bad then the machine will stop mid cycle because it cannot fill the washer for the rinse cycle. Secondly, it helps to know which washer you have so please enter more info next time you ask a question. Good luck.

Cold water won't stop before rinse cycle

if it fails to stop running only at the rinse part of the cycle it is probably in the timer as the solenoid valve has to cut the water off when the washer fills for the wash cycle too. fills for wash cycle and cuts off water, washes and drains, refills for rinse cycle and water just keeps running? does this every time you run it? that's in the timer. bad solenoid (water inlet valve) would keep running even on wash fill up. hope this helps.

My wahser just stopped working it filled with water and then started agitating and then all the sudden stopped please help

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water

Maytag washer stopped working at the rinse cycle

do you have the machine set for cold water rinse? if so, the solenoid that allows the cold water to come into the machine may be malfunctioning. try to see if it will fill in the rinse cycle with hot water? if so, you need to change the water inlet valve.

Slow cold water fill, now no rinse/spray cycle

There is a filter screen inside the cold water valve.
Remove the hose, then take the filter screen out and clean it.
    Replace it in the valve.
Problem solved until it stops up again.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
    Good luck!
