Check the main fuse and see if it is blown. It should be a 4 or 5 amp 125v fuse. Thanks for using fixya.

Hi Tom,
If the tv does not turn on, it is a simple case of power supply (inside the tv) failure. Open the back cover if you can, check for blown fuse and replace it, if found blown. If the tv works, very good. If the fuse blows again, consult the repair man.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?
I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

Blinking powerlight on front when i try to turn on tv
This is more likely a power supply failure. Most causes of tv failure are due to bad capacitors on either a system board or the power supply. In this case, it sounds like the power supply. You can test the capacitors with a capacitor tester to determine faulty capacitor. You can also test other components like power supply current with voltmeter or mulit-tester.

Common causes for failures in TV sets are the power supply, and or scan circuit failures. This type of repair could be costly. If the set has a lot of hours of usage, it may not be worth to service.

37 inch LG LCD won't turn on due to power failure
Power failures can cause all types of problems, have you firstly checked the fuse in the mains plug? If that is ok then it may have blown an internal fuse in the power supply board, these are there to protect the rest of the circuit from power surges.

The main power supply is in the protect mode. Usually this is caused by the high voltage section, scan amplifiers, and or the main power supply failing. Many times, when there are failures in the scan amplifier output sections, the main power supply can also be damaged.

On rare occastions, the CRT electron-gun can have a short, and cause this type of failure condition.

An experienced TV tech should be able to service this for you.

Power failure
These TV's are prone to power supply failure. I can fix the power supply on this TV for approx $100 +s/h.... Contact me and all you have to do is remove the power supply and send it to me and I will repair it with high quality parts. Reinstall and you TV will be good as new...

Can't get tv to turn on
There may be a scan failure, and or a failure in the main power supply. The main power supply is in the protect mode due to the failure.

A TV service tech should be able to go through the set and determine the exact failure to service it.

it is due to power supply failure. 1 check for loose contact in power supply. 2 it might be due to plug or socket loose. 3 switching circuit failure in power supply. good luck.

I have a 2006 Sony TV big screen, I turn the Tv on but it clicks back of within seconds. I have a Sony TV big screen. I bought it in 2006. The TV wouldn't come on so I purchased a lamp for that model, that I had bought new in case that the old one went out. It wouldn't come on before I changed it. So I thought that that was the answer. We changed it and it was still turning off an on but it wouldn't stay on and it is still doing it.
