Pc says camera is busy

I used the camera control screen on my pc. it worked fine. Now when I start up the software my pc does not recognize the camera as being connected. When I open the eos utility the camera control screen does not open. However, I when turning on the camera with the usb cable connected, the camera screen reads busy for 2 seconds or so. If camera is turned on disconnected it does not read busy. I installed the eos software on another pc just to test. At camera turn-on this pc recognized it, but said it was either not connected or busy. So it does not seem to be a cable connection problem but the camera is somehow busy? Is there a way to reset original condition?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Goto any radio shack and get a external memory card reader this will allow you to get your pictures if the camera or cable is defective.

No pictures

Hi,

it is possible that for some reason, the formatting of the Transcend 2GB SD card (as done in the camera) was not recognized by the PC. Have you tried formatting the memory card through the PC first before using on the Pentax Optio S10? IF not, could you possibly pls try and post back results?

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My PC is not recognizing my camera, so i cannot download my pictures. It used to work fine for 2 years. In the Device Manager it gives me the following message: Windows cannot start this hardware device...

Windows updates has changed the registry and now your camera is no longer recognized. No problem....just get a card reader and use it instead of your camera for downloads.

My JVC GR D22U will play back my tapes on camera itself just fine, and I can watch them on TV using an S-Video cable, but I cannot transfer them to my PC for editing. Both Windows Moviemaker and Nero...

I had that problem happen for a customer recently. I found that they had some critical updates downloaded and installed for their operating system (Vista upgrade, on top of xp) I unistalled and reinstalled their software Nero and Pinnacle and everything worked fine. If this happens too be your problem you could restore from a previous date to roll back your update and check that first. I hope this helps.

The camera seems to be working fine, and the computer recognizes it, but I can't find the controls or record video. (Video calling with Skype is working fine, but otherwise, I can't seem to open the video...

You may just no have the proper program to do what you want. Video recording software isn't standard on many operating systems, but you can download some for free.

Cannot recognize working microphone

I found the answer. Rosetta Stone has a problem detecting the mics if the speaker input is not in someway connected to the mic. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I don't care and neither should you.

Follow these steps each time you want to use it and you should be fine.
*I'm on Vista, but this should work for every one.
1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Hardware and Sound
3.Open Sound
4.Set Line 1 as your Default Speaker
5. Refresh the Mic list
*All of your mics should now show up.
6. In Rosetta Stone, apply the mic you want and finish the setup.
7.Start whatever language you're using and switch back to the Sound menu.
8.Set whatever speaker you want to use as default.
*Rosetta Stone will continue to work fine until you close it, switch Users, or remove the mic.

In short you have to set the default speaker to LINE 1 to get the mics to appear. Then when you apply the settings switch the default speaker back.
