SATA configuration for MSI P965 Neo --- JMicron hell!

A simple want, and something that has been asked inmany variations in many forums. But just a simple SATA config is not out there.

I'm NOT using the Jmicron port, dont need it. All my drives are SATA. But the various settings in the BIOS allow for only ONE "sweet spot" config.

-I have my OS HDD on SATA 4
-And other SATA drives (HDD and DVD) on the others.

There is SO much confusion amoungst users mostly who are combing IDE and SATA together on this board. Anyone have a clue on the BIOS settings required for the above? THANKS SO much in advance. :)

Look at the support page for MSI P965 NEO V2.

The is a link to download the JMicron SATA driver, however, once i booted the driver from a floppy driver by clicking the F6 in WINXP settupt, it did not work - WINXP install would crash.

WTF is this **** with JMicron.
MSI support is pathetic, it does not even have SATA drivers for P965 NEO...

Hi,
Once you have loaded your main board drivers, configuration should be pretty much automatic.Personnally,I have my dvd drive on the standard IDE ribbon cable header, and 2 SATA HDD.One on each SATA header. After loading The mainboard Drivers,Windows did the rest.I haven't found any need to mess around with any BIOS settings at all.
I currently am using a Biostar P4M900 board, but I have dealt with MSI before, and they are pretty much the same deal.

The drivers can be found at MSIs website. Click on Download tab, then Driver and it will list all the SATA, realtek drivers available once you chose your OS.

You'd have to go to the following URL:

I recently formatted my pc through a computer shop.the problem is the person in charge has no cd installer for the audio. He also does not know where to search in the internet for the audio installer.Please...

Hi.

The audio controller on that motherboard is manufactured by Realtek.

Click on the link that I have provided below which will take you to MSI's support website, choose your operating system (XP, Vista or Win 7) and then download the audio drivers for the motherboard. I also suggest that you download all the drivers for the motherboard and save them to a flash drive or CD just in case you have to reinstall the operating system again.

Tell the guy at the shop to invest in a universal driver disk as that will no doubt solve many of his driver problems.

Can my mobo msi k8m neo-v supports sata dvd rw? if yes then how to install dvd rw and sata driver?

If it as a Sata connector on this motherboard (looks as though ther should be one), it will support a SATA DDVRW. You should not need Sata drivers, but to be on the safe side, you can download them from here:
http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=159

check your oS first

I have an OEM PC with mainboard MSI p965 Neo Today it is not working (no startup screen, no ugly beep messages etc).. I have only a blank screen..

First of all test the power source on its own. Good? Take out the board of the case and keep on it just the video card and try to boot into the BIOS. No good? Try to boot using another video card, then another memory sticks and finally another processor. If none of them had an effect then the motherboard is dead, replace it.

Will an Intel E7400 processor work with an MSI P965 Neo F V2?

Your processor "Intel E7400" is listed as a socket 775 Intell core 2 duo processor. Your motherboard "MSI P965 Neo F V2" is listed as an Intell board using a socket 775 processor socket. The front side buss (or fsb) speed capabilities of the mother board, and the buss speed of the processor are compatible They should play nice with each other.

Good Luck!
