We bought a new acer laptop for christmas at walmart and whenyou use it for an hour it gets really hot and shuts down. it is vert hot to the touch. it is beening used on a hard computer desk with not obstructions. the battery al tends to be hot..it is the acer aspire 5315-2492

Sounds like it is getting too hot. Does it feel real hot when it shuts down?
Is the fan and power supply working well and unobstructed so they get good air circulation?
Sounds like you have dust and dirt blocking your air flow. You probably need to take the laptop apart to get to the CPU fan and heat dissipation unit. You need to clean out all the dust in there to let the air flow freely. Get a service manual to help you take the laptop apart or find a local repair expert.
during summers it is OK . but take precaution and leave the ventilation port open please ensure that there is some gap between bottom surface of laptop and the surface on which it is placed.
Intense heat? If this is the case then call ACER customer service. No laptop should ever become too hot to touch. I use my laptop on my knees for at least 4 hours per day.
