For surround sound, you need an A/V receiver with 5.1 or 7.1 surround capability. Depending on what kind of receiver you have, the DVD player, satellite/cable box, etc hooks to the receiver, those signals go out to the TV, and the speakers hook to the receiver. The receiver decodes the signal from the cable/satellite box or DVD player and routes it to the appropriate speakers. If the TV program or DVD isn't HD or coded for surround sound, the best you can expect is 2.1 channel stereo sound. OR, you can hook everything (DVD, satellite/cable box) to the TV and run an optical cable from the Digital Output of the TV to the receiver, which is basically the same thing, just a different way to hook everything up. Hope this helps
Assuming that your satellite receiver has HDMI, use that cable to connect to the back of the TV. Then use the Yellow, White and Red to connect the DVD player. Use the source button on the remote to toggle among the inputs.
most stores sell both adapters needed to hook up dvd or any type of electronic equipment buy a a/b switch so u can switch from dvd to [cable or satellite] then buy coaxle adapter which has 3 wire hook up to coaxle for tv [rca $10 ] and coaxle wire. connection wire a or b from dvd to adapter and other from a or b to cable/satellite other end of a/ b goes to tv slide switch to watch dvd and slide back for reg tv
have this model..was trying to hook it up to a directv hughes receiver. After a day of trying and many curse words I found that using thishookup works . Hook up your satellite connection to you tv asusual...Now plug rca cables(red, yellow white) into the corresponding holes on the BACK of the Directvreceiver ..now plug the rca cables into the FRONT of the Magnavoxplayer...you will only use find holes for the white and yellow(that'sok) Now hook up up the dvd playerto the tv using the rca connection back of dvd/vcr player..or if yourtv only has a coax connection you will need a rf modulator available atwalmart etc. You will run the dvd/vcr on L2. The key is the connectionsto the FRONT of the dvd/vcr player..I hope this helps..:)
Is this an external drive? Here a tip: Anytime you use a peripheral with USB you must load the drivers first, then hook up the device. This is only with USB devices. So try uninstalling your DVD driver, unplug the DVD player, reload the driver for the DVD player, then hook the DVD player back up. That should take care of it.
Actually if you do have a ps2 you don`t really need a Dvd upconverter because Ps3 is a full Dvd player +blu Ray Hi Definition.I suggest to take the dvd out and just use the ps3 as a Dvd player
Good Luck
The easiest way to connect the unit is via coax. You can come out of your satellite receiver via the "Out to TV" on the back of the receiver to the "In from Ant" on your DVD/VCR combo. You can then connect another coax from the "Out to TV" on the DVD/VCR combo to the "Ant/Cable" input on the back of you TV. Make sure the satellite receiver and the vcr are both modulated to the same channel, normally channel 3.
I am assuming that you are using a surround sound system? If so on the back of the satellite receiver you will have RCA cables labled yellow ,red, white uuse an rca cable to run from the output on the back of the sat box to an rca input on the surround sound unit.the inputs should be labled on the back of the surround sound unit.once you have the sat box plugged in look for the output on the surround sound (rca cables) run one set of rca cables to the rca cable input of the Tv.on the original tv remote select the tv input that is the cable from the surround sound is plugged in to . make sure the surround sound unit input is selected to the input that the sat box is plugged into.this will give you surround sound from your satellite receiver, repeat with your DVD player plugging the DVD rca cable output to another empty input on the surround sound.to switch between the sat box (satellite TV) to DvD select another input on the surround sound unit.Try to correspond the units you are plugging into the surround sound to the correct name of the component on the back of the surround sound unit to avoid confussion.any questions,Im here to help.If this works rate me FIXYA! if it helps.GOOD LUCK!
Try looking on your tv's menu for "input" or "input select". This should allow you to switch to your front AV inputs. If that doesn't work hook into the coaxial cable in the back of the set (the one for your cable or satellite input. Plug the cable from the output or to tv side of your reciever into the input of the dvd player and run another lenghth of coaxial cable from the output of the dvd player to the coaxial input where your satellite or cable was plugged into the back of your set. When you want to watch a DVD just turn on the DVD player and the picture should come up. When you turn it off your satellite or cable should come right back.
