Error message NG: 01 F->

No driver is needed for the ARS-2030LD, however a driver may be needed to enable the scsi portion of the controller. Once accomplished, the drive will be auto/detected / auto-installed. I suggest you read the user manual, available here:

Your devices may also require a firmware update.

To upgrade the firmware you will need to download the newest firmware from this site: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/bd/download/bd30/index.html and burn it onto a cd. If you can't or don't want to burn the cd it looks like they will can send a copy of it to you.

try using a different brand of writeable disks you may have a bad batch

I had a similar problem... went to samsung.com and downloaded firmware update for unit and instructions.... updated firmware and unit is now able to copy my own tapes from vhs to dvd.

Be sure to read and following firmware update instructions carefully...

I have had much luck recording on off brand 16X discs as follows:

1) Record a "dummy" program on the hard drive, need only about 15 or 20 seconds.

2) Put a blank disk in drive, and COPY that dummy program to disk. Do not finalize.

3) After a minute or so, window will come up and say "Cannot
complete copy."

4) Now while above window on screen, click HOME MENU, COPY, New program list, Select your movie/program to copy, go ahead and finalize, and START.

5) Think you'll find this is successful, however there might be some brands of blank disks that won't work.

Bad Disk batch is the most common problem if it is occuring with the same batch of dvds. Other problems could include that you need to get a firmware upgrade for higher speed discs. If you are using a disc that burns faster than the current speed of the machine you need to download the upgrade (follow the directions that are given in most dvd blank packs) and insert the CD that you downlaoded the program onto into the DVD player/recorder.

You have an early unit and need to install the firmware upgrade. Download it from Samsung and burn to a CD. Insert the CD in the DVD player and the upgrade will be performed.

I had exactly the same problem -- error message of "This disc can be neither played nor recorded. Please check the disk [EC:0207]" after the machine had been working fine for a year. I downloaded the latest firmware from the Samsung website, burned it to a CD-R disk (took three tries until the DVD Recorder recognized the disk -- worked when I used Rocio CD Creater software), then loaded the firmware updates to the DVD Recorder. On the Samsung website you can retrive the firmware update instructions as well. I had to perform the firmware upgrade several times until it successfully updated both the system firmware as well as the disk firmware. After successfully updating both, the Recorder now recognizes the DVD-R disks and I was able to resume recording. I have however, noted some choppiness with the playback of the newly recorded disks. Other than that, the firmware upgrade successfully resolved the problem.

What software are you using to burn and what type of dvd are you trying to burn.(+), (-), or (RW). Do you have a copy of NERO? http://www.filehippo.com has NERO (I think) try a different then try a different disk. Some where it even said to try defragging the hard drive...It wouldn't hurt.
