I transfered a VHS tape to DVD on my Toshiba DVR620KU machine. I used a Memorex DVD+R. I can play the DVD on the Toshiba unit, but it will not plan on any other DVD. Can you tell me how to correct this...

You must finalize the DVD on the Toshiba before it can be read on any other DVD player. Before finalization, it is possible to still add content to the DVD using the Toshiba but afterwards it will not be possible.

What kind of files do I want to download so that I can burn them onto a memorex DVD-R 16x 4.7gb 120min? I want to play them on my DVD player

If you're trying to watch videos etc then the absolute easiest format to work with is ISO

It's basically an "image" of the original dvd. I usually use a program called Imgburn when I'm using Windows or Toast if you've got a mac.

Just make sure the ISO you download is 4.7gbs and below or else it won't work.

You can also convert any video to work with the blank dvds but you'll have to convert them using another program, for this I usually use Nero. It takes forever though so try to stick to the iso's ;)

Hope this info helps!

When burning dvd movies 5-6hrs.long error msg.not enough space on blank disk. Using Memorex 16X 4.7GB 120min.Blanks

Those DVDs can only hold 120 minutes of video. You'll have to cut up the video footage to 2 hour blocks, or change the recording options to burn a data DVD versus video DVD and compress the 6 hour long videos down to less than 4.7GB total.

Failed to burn DV disc.Cyberlink Media Show error code 0x0A180001

I was also suffering this problem with Nero 6. To solve your Problem first make sure that the windows you are using that supports your Software if supports, then your Optical Drive may not Write in high speed 16x or 18x, write your files in DVD in little bit slow speed, after doing all this if it gives same problem then Please reinstall your windows you are using.

My memorex 16X DVD+R Discs to play in my home player

-r is more universal, +r is newer.
Howevr it could be what you are using and how you are burning the DVDs.
Try just moving the Video TS folder to the recording cue and burn just that (as data).

My nec dvd rwnd 3500ag does not burn 16x dvd's when i use it with nero with memorex 16x dvd blank disks it comes up with an error, it had no problems burning the old format 4 or 8 x disks, is their a...

1) Do not pay attention to speed burning, in my opinion the slower the better.

2) the burner may be dusty, buy a dry dvd lens cleaner and use it.

3) try other media like Verbatiom or Teac and compare results.

4) the lifespan of any burner (depends on use) is about 18 months (my nec 7170-AD stopped working after 10 months), you may have exeded the life span of your burner, replace with new one.
