F61 Error Code Panasonic SA-AK500 Audio w/ CD Exchange

I have found that others have had the same problem with this model. I am just curious as to what specific parts I can try and replace to fix the problem. I have heard it may be the voltage regulator / ics. If anyone would be generous enough to supply me with specific part numbers that would be a blessing. Poor girl, who doesn't have the money to take it to a service tech. and/or buy a new stereo! Thanks in advance.

I'm in the same boat sick of the darn thing turning itself off error code F61. I thought I had a good product until now! anyone with any ideas on this would be good. But looking through here seems all the panasonic models crash like this in the end.

Gotta love F61........the stereo turns on long enough to show the error code then shuts itself down. Should I consider it a junker and trash it?

The output IC may be defective. Part number RSN35H2-P.

  • havedecat50 Dec 14, 2010

What is output IC? You didn't answer the question. The error message says F61--and nothing else and power shuts off and when it's turned on you hear a loud noise. Do you know what is causing that and can this unit be fixed??

  • Anonymous Dec 27, 2010

i've encountered cases that f61 code appear and i found out that the fan was defective which the sensor sense it and shuts down the unit after 3-5 mins.check the fan if it is working and if yes it is your output i.c. shuts down your unit.

Most propably the problem is a dirty socket on card number: RJB2191B which is the card on the side of the system connected to the power amp. the socket is propably CN603A but if i were you i would take all ribbon cables out clean the sockets with contact cleaner and clean also the ribbon cables. insert the cables back in the sockets respectively and check for any dry joints under the sockets,(could be the cause also), check everything is in place and switch on.
hope this helped. Roderick Bonello,15 years electronics field engineer.

Panasonic error f61

If you do not know what an audio output IC is, what would ordering one do for you? And unless you have the know how and special gear there is no freaking way you could ever replace it.
Either have someone repair it for you or go shopping.

I WHAT IS FULT OF F61 IN SA-AK177

HELLO
F61 means a protection code which normally means there is a fault with the audio output IC. Check all your cables for shorts etc, and try hooking it back up. If the error is still there you'll have to put it in for service.

Error 61 and does not operate

Error F61 represents a failed main board(motherboard). this can happen during a surge or, it can be just age related or heat. the microchips are laced with a thermal compound and, this compound will thin over time. i would also inspect the optical lens assembly as well. This model is programmed to show this code if the lens is damaged as well. In most cases, it will be the main board.
