Somehow--the lamp is not firing. Before you go get another bulb--check ALL of your work, and make SURE no connectors to the ballast have been left off or pinched somehow. It is easy to do this. Also, make sure the lamp door switch is making proper contact with the tab on the lamp door. You have already fixed a real problem with this set--do NOT give up so easily now!! ALso--make sure all fans are running. If ANY do not run--it WILL shut down. ANd make sure the color wheel connector has not come loose or been damaged somehow (this will be between the engine and the lamp area--likely have a "hump " raised in the light tunnel betwen the lamp and the engine--this is where the CW is). Even IF the ballast died (NOT likely at all), you can find one on ebay for under 100---and this set IS WORTH the repair. You will NOT be satisfied with some crappy flat-panel as a replacement.
The clicking sound is the high voltage power supply trying to ignite the gas in the lamp. The lamp is not firing and coming on. Check the bulb/ lamp life. Possible the lamp has exceeded its useful life and may need to be replaced.
Hi, Question shows tv is Sony KDF-60WF655. Green light blinks when tv gets prepare to fire up lamp, check internal circuits then show picture on front screen. Red light blinking shows some kind of internal problem during circuit check and protection got activated upon some failure. Count the red light blink as you will see 3 second long pause and post it here to diagnose what section of tv got problem. Did you replaced its lamp in last 2-3 years? Thanks.
The green blinking lamp means that the TV is getting ready to start the lamp, and then one red LAMP blink means the lamp will not start. You may need a new lamp (Part TYLA1001.)
Hello! Lamp or ballast(if lamp has been replaced) is bad. Explanation: green comes on: system works, waiting for light to shine into light engine: no light is coming out of lamp, system shuts down, then you see red! how to determine: pull the lamp out of the unit's compartment. Inspect lamp: bloated stem? shuttered? reflector is not shiny? Chuck it! Lamp looks good or just been replaced: try ballast. Close lamp compartment without lamp itself. Make sure, door is shut, as well. Turn unit on and listen close to lamp compartment: good ballast will make a buzzing noise, then stop. You've got "red'! No buzzing: ballast quit. Needs major repair! Lamp must be good, for sure, to get to the last part of diagnostics. Conclusion: more, than 2000 hours of usage: replace lamp first! Good luck, Alex.
Yup, it seems a lamp problem can give a blinking green light over the 10 times (1 - 10 times for diagnostic codes), but in my case rather than replace the bulb if it works for a minute then resets with the green light blinking, do what I did. Take the lamp out and inspect it, it has breather screens top and bottom, if it cant breath because there clogged with dust, clean them, and you can remove the screens, use q-tips and clean the inside. I saved the cost of a lamp and it's working fine!
