ANY DRIVE DOESN'T OPEN????????

It's a virus, undetectable with antiviruses, there is a file named autorun.inf in the drive delete the file and recheck it.

Well friends, This is satya here , I am going to give you Quick tips, Just follow it:

First go to run then write " regedit" that is registry

then find " ctrl+f"

in this box write "mountpoints2" and delete it ......

then again press "ctrl+f" again find mountpoints2 until all these files are not deleted

then u will see ur problems is solved.

Nikki u should run ur drive from start menu.

IF the problem comes after formatting it,..........use quick heal antivirus,...........it is the best antivirus for .exe file virus,.(Autorun)..............or use naevius_usb_antivirus,.........for it,.................it will finish your problem permanently,..........if u don't have that ,...........search it on cnet.com,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If somone is still looking for the solution here it is:

- First check for viruses, then delete them. Be sure to also delete the autorun.ini file along with the virus. Most likely the virus has copied itself on each drive, so repeat the process for each drive. (Be sure to check the "show hidden files" option from the folder options, so that you maybe able to delete the autorun file which may not be detected by your anti virus program.)

I was having the same problem. There was this virus xp19.com. I deleted it but forgot to delete the autorun.ini file. After deleting the autorun file, the problem completely finished.

- Another (rather annoying) solution is that when the open with window appears, open the drive with internet explorer, it will work same as windows explorer.

- Another (rather time consuming) solution is that first backup all data on the drive, (only the visible files, not the hidden ones, except if its a system drive, ) then, format the drive. Now put the data baack on the drive. Your problem will be most likely gone.

- How to format a drive: (Note that all files will be deleted after format, thats why be sure to backup the data.) Right click on the drive, select the format option. There are no settings to change. Just format the drive using FAT 32 file system. Dont format your C drive. Instead, you can easy reinstall Windows in short time.
