My wii was bricked. there is no display on my t.v only a black screen

Hi there

you have the no display error

This needs to be repaired.

you can send the console to Nintendo for free if in warranty, if out of warranty then this will cost you around $150, the whole process will take 4-6 weeks

I prefer the Wii repair guide Method, download the guide and follow the simple step by step instructions and fix the problem in less than an hour, no hassle, low cost everybody is happy.

Best Regards

My wii was working fine until i put in the nrl game now the wii light comes on but the tv screen is black and i can't turn the wii off unless i unplug the power cord at the socket please help

Hello there

From what you have said it sounds like you have the NO DISPLAY ERROR

The main causes are Hardware failure, overheating or wear & tear.

You may need to perform simple maintenance, clean or in some cases adjust settings.

To get the best advice on where to start I recommend a Wii REPAIR GUIDE, From this you can fix the problem at home and avoid any large repair bills. Its easier than it sounds when you have help from the guide.

Me and my friends use this very good Console Repair Website.

The other solution would be to send the console off to Nintendo, This is free if your still in warranty. If your console is out of warranty then the usual price of repair is $100

I am Glad I could help and You can help others by rating this Post or leaving a comment.

Cant get past language screen

Here are instructions from Nintendo on how to fix this issue. It's most likely related to the sensor bar. Good Luck!

If your screen appears frozen at the Language select screen, we have found that to be related to the Sensor Bar. Please try the following:

Ensure that the Sensor Bar cord is plugged snugly to the back of the console, and is placed properly at the center of your TV screen. For detailed directions on setting up the Sensor Bar, please click here.

Check to be sure the Wii Remote is synced to the console, by using the Power button on the Wii Remote to turn the console on. (The power button is the small white button with the red symbol in the top-left corner, just above the Control Pad). If this doesn't work, try to sync the Wii Remote. Once synced, try to turn the power on the console on and check for proper response.

Make sure that the Wii Remote is being used between 3' and 10' directly in front of the TV and that there are no bright light sources affecting the Wii Remote's operation (review Game Play Guidelines for more information), and that the Sensor Bar is placed properly (see Sensor Bar setup). Avoid sources of infrared light in the gameplay area such as electric, propane or kerosene heaters, flames from fireplaces or candles, and stoves or other sources of heat.

If you are still experiencing problems after trying the steps above, there could be a problem with your Sensor Bar. Please read the following:

The Sensor Bar has five infrared lights on each side of the bar that the Wii Remote uses to determine its position. If these lights aren't working, then the Wii Remote cursor will not display on the screen, and you won't be able to navigate the setup screens.

To see these lights, you will need a digital camera or cell phone camera with an LCD display . After making sure the Sensor Bar is plugged in and the power to the console turned on, direct the camera at the Sensor Bar so that it is displayed in the LCD of the camera. If the five infrared lights can be seen on both sides of the Sensor Bar, the Sensor Bar is working. While the position/angle of the camera may need to be adjusted slightly, the lights are fairly easy to see in the LCD display.

The 'hand' on screen

Make sure that the Sensor Bar is setup correctly:
Check the cord on the Sensor Bar for any frayed wires or kinks, and verify that the Sensor Bar is free of obstructions.
Verify that the Wii Remote is being used between 3 and 8 feet directly in front of the TV, and that the Sensor Bar is placed properly (see Sensor Bar setup).
Verify that there are no bright light sources, including sunlight, behind or near the TV, shining towards the Wii Remote or reflecting off the TV screen. Also verify there are no heat sources (such as electric, propane or kerosene heaters, flames from fireplaces or candles, stoves, etc.). If there are bright lights shinning directly behind the TV or on the screen, turn the lights off.
If problem persist your Wii Remote need service.

Wii LED Green, but no Startup on screen. Cannot power off either.

Just spoke to Nintendo Technical support.  Seems the rub is in the AC adapter itself.
Need to power down at both ends of the AC adapter--unplug AC adapter from wall output AS WELL AS from back of Wii.
Wait at least two minutes to allow any charge in the adapter itself to dissapate.  Plug adapter into wall first, then back into the Wii, making sure your peripherals (eg AV receiver, TV, projector if using) are already on.
Tech support says sometimes you get a partially tripped "fuse" within the AC adapter itself.
This seems to have worked for now--will let the forum know if further problems
