It is not your camera, it is your lens, The af lens trying to engage and the gears are grinding. Just for verification go to your nearest camera store and try a different lens on your camera. They will not shake like yours.

Using the timer should be fairly straightforward once you read instructions on doing it from the user manual:

What causes noise and vibration in the lens whe. turned on axa100

It's almost certain that some part of the lens or the supporting framework are faulty. You can try troubleshooting the device with the user manual, but you will probably need to have it repaired. Try checking out the user manual to be sure:

My Sony a200 DSLR is vibrating and making a loud noise HELP!

Since it still takes photos, I don't think it is the shutter. Have you tried cleaning the contacts between the camera and the lens, and does it occur with other lenses ?
The other possibility is that you have activated the sensor cleaning option - check that in the menu.

Sony a200 Flash pops up then flashes as if its shorting and I am unable to take any photos.

Are you shooting in low light? Sometimes the flash will fire multiple short bursts to aid in focusing. If the camera is not in focus, then depending upon your setting it will not fire.

The lens kit of my Sony DSLR A200 produces noise

If it's in continuous auto-focus and doing it, then it is just not locking on to one thing and jumping back and forth between two objects that are very close together in distance and it is normal. It should stop in manual, single shot or single point auto-focus. Sony uses Nikon auto-focus technology and my D-300 with a 70-200mmf2.8 will do it if I turn the auto-focus tracking time(lock-on) all the way down with the auto-focus in full auto.

When I switch on my camera (Sony Alpha A100) it shakes & shudders

No, there isn't. It's the stabilizer shaking and making noises. Contact your local Sony service center.
