Fuser or overheat error it will probably be followed by a 77. Menu, mode and 0 quickly in that order will give access to user maintenace mode (lights will flash once your into the mode). Hit 91 to reset the machine. If this doesn't work you have a major problem with your fuser unit and it will need to be replaced. DO NOT DO THE ABOVE PROCEDURE MORE THAN ONCE AS YOU WILL START TO MELT STUFF IF THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM.

Brother Intellifax 2600 - Solid black pages

Black pages are indicative of a bad drum. A failing drum basically can't be charged anymore. Since the toner cartridge can't discern what part of the drum is calling for toner, it simply fills the whole page with toner, creating the black pages you describe. You should check the drum, and corona wire and clean both. If the problem returns, you have a bad drum and should replace it.

Will not receive fax Will not send fax Will not copy Has error Message 76 on monitor

Machine error 76 is a bad fuser lamp.Sometimes the machines will give a false code and can be reset. Unplug machine. Hold down the Menu key while powering back up. You should still get a Machine error message. Enter the number 9...The display should change to Maintenance 9 then enter 1. The Machine error will return. Enter 99 and then make a test print. If you get either a machine error 76 or 78 you will need to have service done on your machine to have either the lamp or thermistor replaced, and depending on the usage of the machine, it might not be a bad idea to replace the entire fuser.
