Ipod locked with a pin code but can't remember code

if you really can't remember the code to the screen lock you can restore the ipod through itunes when its connected to the computer. it will wipe your ipod of music and apps but at least you'll have access.

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.

Usually by default the Code key is 1234 either 0000.

Restore your iPod via itunes, it will take away all your photos/music on your iPod but it will take away the code!

Well you could back it up in iTunes then restore it and load the backup. That's the only way I can think of. No way to bypass. And if you need the pin to restore from iTunes, you could boot into dfu and restore from there.(google it)

There is a sliding switch on the top of the iPod. if it is red, then the iPod is locked - slide the switch to unlock. If it is not red and your iPod is not working, you have another problem.

i have a 2nd gen ipod nano. how do you reset the lock code if you forget it?

If you can't remember your lock code on your Nano, you will have to restore the Nano via iTunes, there is no other way around this, as there is no way to recover your lock code.
Restoring your Nano will erase everything on the player, and restore it to factory defaults, after this is done you can restore all your files and settings to your Nano.
