Th unit is turning off on its' own. It smells like something is burning if you put your nose up to the top grill. It is also very warm if you put your hand on the grill.
Please check your thermostat, it could be defective and needs to be replaced. It is overheating at the moment, and may bogged down anytime. That is why it is unusually hot. Please check the thermostat, before your unit gets damage. Hope this will help you.

I wouldn't mess around with trying to fix it myself if the item is still under warranty. If you are smelling burning, and safety mechanisms aren't working, I'd be very careful about continuing to use it.
Do you still have your invoice? At only 2 months old, the unit shouldn't be malfunctioning like that. Best thing to do would be to take it back and exchange it for a new one. If the place you bought it from won't take it back, then call Honeywell directly. Honeywell should cover either fixing it or exchanging it under warranty.
If it smells like plastic burning. Stop using it immediately. As there could be an electrical short or overheating of the unit. If doesn't smell like plastic burning, you'll need to be more descriptive of what the odor smells like.
Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
try putting some white vinegar in the unit like a cup with water, let run a while, then put fresh water in I tried to help you. Please help me and Rate/Vote on my response, thanks and good luck
the easiest way to clean the unit is to fill the unit with vinegar and water. it takes 1 cap full of vinegar per gallon of water. run all the water out of it. now if you don't like the smell of vinegar what you can do is take some bleach let it sit in the take for about 20 minutes. wipe out the rest of theunit with water and then rinse the tank very thoroughly before placing it back on theunit. once you have done that the unit will be cleaned. now ifyou don't want to do either one of those options. you can always call the manufacturer or check around and local hardware stores and they will have cleaning solutions taht don't have any smell or anything to them and you can put that in your unit as well. if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
Hi!!! You might have a bad flame sensor its a single rod located in the burners its white..If the unit runs and then shuts off and on and off.change your flame sensor..Good luckk..
The red light indicates that there is no water in it. You need to put water in it, then a green light comes on instead. When the water runs out you will see the light turn red again. You need to fill it about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way up to make it last. You should refill it about once a day or every 2 days depending on how often you use it. But when you see the red light on then you know the water is gone.
I haven't had any problems with my Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier other than the fact that the area surrounding it is slightly wet after operating for a couple of hours....While I understand that I was using this to moisturize the air during a cold, I knew this would happen, because the air in my room is not dry. If the room isn't dry, the mist that it's putting out in to the air has no where to go but surround the humidifier. All I did to stop this was to buy a water proof mat. I suggest you do the same -- Also, in regards to the water smelling -- You should be cleaning out and drying the basin after every use. Water shouldn't smell unless you let it stagnate inside the plastic -- Try running distilled vinegar through the machine for a couple of minutes -- Also, I would use an extension cord and let it run outside so that your house doesnt smell like Vinegar.
