There is a black shadow and the light is new.

Black shadows can be caused by several things. If the bulb/s was/were recently changed then its possible that part of the black material that covers the interior, or some other "object" has fallen into the light path. This can also be caused by "burn in" depending on your TVs technology. Thats where an image has been on in the same spot without changing for a long time, like with a video game etc. this cannot be fixed, the device that make the image must be replaced. Lastly, if the set is DLP or CRT technology a magnet or magnetic tool can warp the image if left close to the tube. All you would have to do is remove the magnet to fix this.
One last thing...if the shadow is around everything on the screen, like a real shadow, then your set need to be aligned. If you replaced the bulb/s yourself, you can bet this is the problem.
Most of these sets have a combination of physical and electronic adjustments that need to be made when any of the video producing elements are replaced.

I have a HCN4727w samsung. Red/green shadowing. Bowed image

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped or bowed
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Multi colored shadows on a 43UWX10B

This is a common problem in this and most rear projection sets- this set uses two STK-392-110 Ic chips---both need to be replaced and the set adjusted---usually can be done in your home---I do these sets for 200 parts and labor or 50 less if someone brings me the set---very good set and this is about the only real problem it ever has.

Multi-color double images or shadows and curved screen

Alrighty, very common problem on this set. Here's a rundown of the repair if you're a DYI:

With the back cover off you'll notice a set of boards on the bottom of the TV and a pair of boards sitting up over the two bottom boards. The problem lies in the upper-right hand board which is the color convergence power supply. Either replace or repair this board. The repair involves the main power mosfet (a three legged regulator on a heat sink) and two diodes next to it.

Next, the bottom right hand board needs to be removed and a fuse replaced next to the flyback. If you are versed in electronics I can detail the repair further otherwise you're going to have to have a shop do the repair.

Color Alignment

the most common problem when the tv felt is the shadows all over the screen (maybe the tv didnt show it imm but looks like now is there the problem)
second:there is a circuit in the tv that works when the tv turns on every day. prevents the tv showing shadows on the screen.
the answer is this: if that system that prevents shadowing is working then the CRT is broken and say bye to the TV. But if the expert tech can make sure the D' gauss system is not working and can repair it then you get tv back.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Mitsubish hd 1080I wt 46809

Check settings first to make sure no one changed anything out of the ordinary. Are the shadows that of a color or darkened shadow? It could be out of convergence, which can be corrected in the menu - or it could be low quality video cables to. Also, if there is no green, does a white color show up when you're in a menu mode (Red+Blue+Green = White Image)? If so, then the green picture tube is working and it's just a color adjustment, otherwise you may have to invest in a new green picture tube.
