The ignition switch on one burner will not stop, even though the burner is fully ignited. None of the other three burners are "clicking" but they will ignite if I turn them on. We finally got it to quit by cutting the circuit to the gas top range. Any ideas?

Replace the "igniter switch assembly". The igniter's are getting a weak spark and since you have one that will not spark at all, this is the usual problem. Here is the assembly to order.
The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.
Hello Blair Does the clicking or spark stop with all knobs in off position? If so it's probably the one burner valve for the one you're trying to light ,stuck in light mode, sending signal to module.Have that burner valve replaced.($50). (2) If clicking continues even though everything is off, it could be any one of the burner valves or your ignition module is messed up .You would have to pull wire off each burner valve one by one to find the offending valve . If not valves then suspect ignition module. Easily fixed either way.
Thanks for using FIxYa.The igniter doesn't stop clicking due
to a short inside the igniter circuit or due to moisture present on the
ignition switch.Turn off the gas supply immediately and also unplug it from the
mains power. Now take a blower or your hair dryer and blow hot air over the igniter. Also check for the following troubleshooting steps---
1)The gap between
the igniter and the burner base is too large. *Should be approximately the
thickness of two dimes.
2)Soiled igniter or
burner base.
The above can be tested by switching the suspected burner
with a known operating burner.
3)Loose wiring
connections at the igniter, the grounding strap, or spark module.
4)Broken or pinched
igniter wire between the burner and module.
Both of the above are physical inspections under the main
top.
5)The module may
have a week coil, which is not providing sufficient voltage to ignite the gas.
Even after performing these steps the igniter doesn't stop clicking then you need to replace the spark module.

I did have the same problem after the house keeping people done with cleaning. They used window/surface cleaner. First I asked them not to clean the ignitor with any cleaner. Here is what I did to solve the problem
I took scotch scour pad (one that you use for washing dishes), In dry state I polished ignitor switch. It is abrading the residuals and deposits on the top and polishing it. Don't use any thing more abrasive than that. MAGIC - I don't have any more problem.
