I have seen this a few times. the m/w portion has seperate fuses and sometimes the cartridge fuse can be blown. it is located inside the top above oven. hard to get to without pulling the unit and getting the top off of unit.
others have had a failure in the microwave control board.

Oven light on display says door and now wont heat

The oven will not turn on the heat because it thinks the door is still open. It thinks the door is open because it has a sensor that gets pressed by the door when it closes (look around edges of oven that get covered when door closes) this sensor is wet, dirty or broken so when you close the door the sensor still says its open. Did you clean around the door with a wet cleaning fluid?

Oven door doesnt close well

I'm not familiar with your oven but most oven doors are very similar in operation. When the door doesn't close well it's generally because the hinges have been stretched/bent when the oven door has been open. To see if this is the case, open the door fully. If it's stretched the door will open past 90 degrees (slope down instead of being horizontal). The easiest way to fix this is to bend it back. Place something as a spacer between the door and the oven on both sides (like a spanner handle or anything strong and about 8mm thick) as close to the hinge as possible. Close the door against it carefully and push the door closed. Do it a little at a time and remove the spacers and try the door each time until you are happy that it closes nicely again. It should be spring loaded closed slightly.

Trying to clean my whirlpool oven. when it start button, an E1 - F5 comes up. What is this telling me.

Hello,

What the F5-E1 error code means is that the door lock asm. is not operating so when its suppused to close and lock the door to self clean it cant do it since something is wrong with the latch/lock assambly

Some of the things that would need to be checked to see why the latch isn't working are;
the latch position switch, the latch itself to be good and opening/closing, & the part called the soloniod that is what operates the latch so it could open or close

My oven door doesn't close completely. Is there a way to adjust the door?

Hi There
I found this for to read so you can fix your door.I hope this will help you.Let me know how it goes.
The oven door won't close If your oven door has gotten bent or warped (maybe you rested something heavy on it…), you need to remove the door, disassemble it, and straighten it. You can lift most oven doors off of their hinges by opening the door several inches to its first "stop," and lifting the entire door straight up. If the hinges have become worn, damaged, or bent, you probably need to replace them. We recommend replacing both hinges at the same time, to prevent uneven wear of the undamaged hinge.
Thank you for writing to fix ya.
Best Regards Richard

Sharp MW won't shut off

Sounds like it needs a new electronic board or PCB. Although I would consider a new microwave as your microwave is getting on in age and can be a danger to health or dangerous if something blows up.

Self clean

Usually the oven has to be locked closed with a handle on on the front door. This will activate a safety mechanism that will allow the cleaning cycle to start. If the safety switch is malfunctioning or the door is not closed properly, the cleaning cycle won't start.
