Hi do you know how I can connect my lap top to the internet wireless with my linksys wireless router ? the lap top asks for an access code and I do not know what it is or how to find it do you know how to...

The access code or password is the encryption key in your wireless router, without this key the wireless router won't allow the laptop/computer to connect to this wireless router.
The WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the encryption key. Then go to your computer/laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and encryption key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I just purchased a new lap top. i have net gear 123for my tower. cannot seem to get the lap top to work. it keeps asking for a security code. Do not know what it is

no we cant know what it is, it needs to be connected via the cable first, then access the router's setup and change the wireless security key.

sometimes the security key is printed on the back of the router

Trying to connect lap top

The WEP key is something you designate on your own router. IF you are trying to get into someone else's router you need to ask them for permission to have their WEP key. Otherwise you cant get in. If you forget your WEP key you can do a hard reset on the router to clear out the key.
