First you'll need a list of frequencies to program. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, visit:

www.RadioReference.com

Once you have your freq list, power the scanner ON,and:

1. Press PGM. Then enter the channel number (1-200) where you want to store a frequency, then press PGM again.
2. Use the keys to enter the frequency (including the decimal point) you want to store.
3. Press ENT to store the frequency into the channel. Press DELAY if you want the scanner to pause 2 seconds on this channel before it proceeds to the next channel after a transmission ends.
4. To program the next channel in sequence, press PGM and
repeat Steps 2 and 3.

Operation
• To listen to a weak or distant station, turn SQUELCH counterclockwise. If reception is poor, turn SQUELCH clockwise to cut out weak transmissions.
• If SQUELCH is adjusted so you always hear a hissing sound, the scanner will not scan or search properly.

Need the full manual for your scanner? You can download/print it here:

When ever my webcam is plugged in and trying to be used (record sound or video or for video calling) it causes problems with my computer. It makes me computer slow down so much all open programs show as...

Try closing out all other programs first, then your computer should be able to handle that 1 particular webcam program. If not, then possibly the webcam program was not installed correctly or missing data from program installed incompletely. Try Uninstalling and Reinstalling the webcam program, restart your computer and that should do the trick. Good Luck.

Make older programs run in this version of Windows (from help section in Windows 7)

Most programs written for Windows Vista also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows doesn't run correctly, you can try changing the compatibility settings for the program, either manually or by using the Program Compatibility troubleshooter.

getcontent.aspx?assetid=745c7204-cf9f-46fb-a86c-98d4b9c644cf&documentset=en-us&prod=win700&market=us Go to the Windows website to watch the video. (1:26)

If changing the settings doesn't fix the problem, go to the program manufacturer's website to see if there is an update for the program.
Warning

  • Do not use the Program Compatibility troubleshooter on older antivirus programs, disk utilities, or other system programs because it might cause data loss or create a security risk.

To run the Program Compatibility troubleshooter
  1. ?id=microsoft.windows.resources.shellexecutetopiciconClick to open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter.

  2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
Tip

  • You can also open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by right-clicking a program's icon or shortcut and then clicking Troubleshoot compatibility.

?id=microsoft.windows.resources.collapsearrow?id=microsoft.windows.resources.expandarrow To change compatibility settings manually

To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the program icon, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.

Disable visual themes

I am missing some files and can not uninstall program to reinstall. I go to add and remove programs. I am trying to reinstall the program but it tells me I already have installed it

Try going to the program's directory and run the uninstall from there. Your program is likely at c:\program files\<program> where <program> is the name of the program or the manufacturer of the program. Try executing the file 'uninstall'. It might do better.
If it doesn't work any better than add/remove programs, you may have to become a bit more creative.

My computer keeps re booting when i try and go into a program

what about other programs? if it only happens on one program tryo to uninstall and reinstall that program to your pc. if it still persists, it might be a compatibility issue of your program to your pc.. try that program with a different pc to isolate the problem.

Hi i have anti virus pro 2010 on my computer i have tried to remove through my task manager but it has shut down my administrator ihave tried to delete through comand prompt ihave tried file search to...

Go to your control panel and then go to programs. In your programs delete the programs that you want. Go through the control panel then programs to delete a program not task manager. Task manager only cancels the program use at that time it does not delete.

I need to download a program that requires windows and my computer says the program wont run in dos mode how do i get it to work?

if the program requires windows that means it was design to work with windows and not with DOS.. you may want to get an old version of the program that will actually run under DOS.. usually you may be able to do the opposite which is to run DOS program on windows.

if possible try to get a DOS version of the program you are trying to run, or better.. upgrade your operating sytem so you can run your program and possibly other DOS programs.

post the program you are looking to download and confirm what operation system you're running and I'll try to look for it with you.
