Thank you safauoc! I am going to look into the matter of replacing the battery on the now discontinued and very expensive Plantronics 590a.
How to Replace the Battery of 590 plantronics? - 753f191.jpg It came as a very big disappointment to learn that this headset is not compliant with Bluetooth V2.0 and the Blutooth Handsfree Profile. To get it to work with Skype, I had to purchase the Plantronics BUA-100 dongle - which was also very very expensive. Now the battery is evidently failing - and the 590a's range is getting shorter and shorter.

I do not think that Plantronics has managed this device's roll-out in a competant manner.

With all the folks offering batteries for the Pulsar 590, you'd think someone had figured out and shared how to replace it, once you've purchased one!

I disassembled the literally molded plantronics 590 headset after it stopped charging after 19 years. There doesnt seem to be any battery but i guess just condensers? Any way i could disassemble and rescue the female socket minus the wires from the end of the charging port with major reconstructive surgery. Now i intend to fit it inside the head phone if space allows. Otherwise outside at the cost of aesthetics to recover a $ 120 in 2005 headset. Small sacrifice i think when you have expensive headphones.

How do i pair plantronics explorer 240 with LG CX265T

In the link below of the user guide for the Plantronics Explorer 240 (230) you'll find pairing instructions on pages 3-5. Also, remember that newer phones are like small computers, so they may become corrupt over time and you may need to reset them every so often. Simply turn your phone off and remove again the battery for a few seconds, then replace the battery and turn it back on again.

My headset will not hold the charge very long - is there a fix for this - is there a battery somewhere on this unit that can be replaced?

Unfortunately, the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset does not have a replaceable battery, it is "hard wired". However the 510 headset does have a one year warranty, so Plantronics will replace it within the warranty period. If it's out of warranty, you can buy a replacement if you'd like or buy the newer version which is the Plantronics Voyager Pro+, which is just a newer, slimmer model and it also has newer technology (for the same cost). Here are the links below.
