Sounds more like a solder issue.actually leaving the unit plugged in may actually help a solder problem as the standby voltage is present and sometimes solder tends to fix itself with voltages present.

My Flat Screen TV stopped working, all I have is a blue light flashing on the bottom edge.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience.

Hello, My elderly Mom has a Trinitron KV-32S10 tv and the stand-by light is continuously blinking and there is no picture, but there is sound. I have unplugged the tv and waited 2 minutes and plugged back...

The blinking light is the fault code to enable the engineer to have a good guess at where the fault area lies.
Count the blinks and tell a Sony repair shop, they will have a good idea of the cost.
Hope that helps.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

My Sharp 56DR650 LED Blinking

Check the number of time it blinks. that is the error code and compare it with the problem listed in the owners manual. see www.fixurtvs.com. The code 32 means the color wheeel is getting stuck. You can try to clean it and put it back or look for a replacement. Repairs should cost you 350 to 450 at shop and 150-250 at home subject to the availability of parts. Cleaning it just a stop gap measure and not a lasting solution. dont worry if the wheel opens up into two with black dust inside. Just clean it put a drop of light machine oil like sewing machine and put it back. there will be hum but the wheel works for months and maybe a year. it varies from tv to tv and quality of your workmanship.

Various Smartridges stopped working

You may need to inspect the inside of the cartridge slot for dust/dirt - swab it with a tiny amount of cleaning alcohol and see if you get better results.

The light blink 3 times & go off & sometimes it stays on &

I read here from a woman that her husband got a blow dryer and reached inside of his tv and blew off all the dust from the inside of his tv, knowing how much dust can accumulate after 5 years I tryed It and Now my tv works perfectly once again, If you take the panel off in the back that surrounds the wire panel, about 7 screws you can get a small blow dryer inside and get rid of alot of the dust,
Always was affraid to work on the inside of a tv, but that was some easy work,
Thank You to the woman that wrote in with the right fix at the right price.

Vsmile home unit and 2 Vsmile pockets no longer work! GR!!!

You should definately call customer service! I had to do this with our vsmile and they were very helpful with tech issues immediately. You can call them at 1.800.521.2010. One thing to try, they had me do this on the home unit. Unplug everything, then hold down both buttons on the front for one full timed minute. This resets the unit. See if this works for you. They will ask you to do it on the phone first anyway. If not, I hope they are able to suggest other helpful solutions for you! If not, you can find a good deal on a new one on ebay. Good luck! I know how much the kids enjoy this unit!! :)
