The Sansa Clip's internal rechargable battery is not user replaceable. However, if it fails within the warranty period (one year), the device can be replaced.Clip's battery is not easily replaceable however if it fails within the warranty period (one year), SanDisk will replace the device.
if you want to do it yourself you have to solder, and its difficult to reassemble it once you take it apart. check sandisk sansa clip disassembled here http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/2007/11/sandisk-sansa-clip-disassembled.php . hope this helps

Hey....unfortunatley manufacturers of small devices like these have specially designed/manufactured batteries to fit the specs of the design of the unit it is possible to replace the battery but to get a new battery will be the biggest challenge it will be a Li-Ion battery (lithium I-ON) which have a limited life as they are only designed for a few thousand charge cycles....sorry i couldn't lend to much support but i wonder if this could be the battery that your after...

SanDisk Sansa C240 1 GB MP3 Player only shows half empty battery picture on screen and wont turn on. So it needs fixing.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved from Misc to model category.

Replace the internal Li-Po battery, but try a reset first.

If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

My sansa 4gb clip is not recognised by my computer. The computer will not acknowlege the usb either... My sansa has run out of battery. What can I do????

Hai, i have sansa clip 2gb with the same problem. one ultimate answer i got is Sansa clip uses Media Transfer Protocol(MTP). Sandisk(maker of salsa clip) know about the problem which cannot be solved(the earlier sansa products are to be avoided). There is no solution with the company.

Hey my sandisk sansa 2gb mp3 player will not charge and it is bran new how do i fix this

1) Try plugging it into a USB port on the BACK panel of your PC, and leave it there for a few hours.

2) Try plugging it into an AC adapter, and leave it there for a few hours.

3) There was a manufacturing problem with many Sansa Clips where the battery leads would detach from the battery. This would result in the Clip not being chargeable, and eventually it would only turn on when connected to a PC (which bypasses the battery). If this is the case with yours, you'll need to return it for a replacement.

My Sansa Clip 2GB MP3 player won't let me add any more songs to it, even though there's 1.26 GB still available. I don't want to reformat the player, cuz that'll delete the songs I already have on there. ...

Hi there..

When you say having difficulty in adding the songs in CLIP, though you have enough space. I'd kindly request you to check for the number of songs that you have added.

Because when you add as MP3 player by default its bit rate is 128kbps so you can add up to 500 songs only. Kindly have a check on it.

I have given the number of songs that can be added with related to size of MP3 player..

Size of the player :512MB 1GB 2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB
Number of songs : 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000

Kindly revert if any clarifications....
