Check out or Google "Batteries Plus" they have all types of batteries for just about anything. They may be willing to open your original battery case and replace the OEM batteries with comparable batteries.

Should my jvc videomovie gr-ax7 work on a half charged battery or do the battery's have to be charged up to there maximum?

I have always understood that it is 'best practice' to fully charge the batteries for electronic equipment. If they are continually only half charged, they can develop a 'memory' and no longer take a full charge.
The other criterion, of course, is that a fully-charged battery will last longer in use, and not let you down at a crucial point when filming.

Battery First Charge On Cellular Phones

When you first get a cell phone, the manufacturer and most likely the store will tell you to immediately put it on charge. DONT!
The best thing to do is use the charge that is on the battery already until it is dead, then give it one full charge.
This will mean the battery's 'memory' will know a full charge from the word go which means that not only will a full charge last longer but the battery will last longer overall.

WHY isn't MY TOMTOM CHARGING? It's BEEN PLUGged IN FOR 45 MINS.

Usually an old (or older) battery will no longer hold a charge ... or will only hold a small charge (that will let you run the GPS for only a few minutes).
Often, when the TomTom device is always connected to the charger (in a vehicle), where it charges every time the car is turned on, whether the TomTom is being used or not, the battery gets charged (partially or fully) often enough to use up the "maximum number of charge" cycles for the battery. Hence, it will no longer charge properly or hold a strong charge.
Like for all lithium batteries, it's better if your device is not always connected and being charged (whether you are or are not using it). The battery will last longer and it will still be able to hold a stronger charge.

How do I get my Hudl to charge its battery?

If a battery fails to charge it could be one of two events that occur. Either the Battery is no longer accepting a charge or the charger no longer has the ability to power charge the battery. Try the Battery first...that is usually the one that fails first.

D1oo Nikon enel3 lithium Battery packs stopped working

Batteries don't live forever. When handling them correct they can survive 1000 charge and discharge cycles. When taking an average of 200 pictures per charge, the battery could survive the camera shutter.
Try to use a battery till it is almost empty. The camera will give a warning when you need to replace (or charge) the battery. When you want to go on a trip or need to make a series of foot's you should take only charged batteries. When you don't use a camera, for a longer period, don't leave the battery in the camera. It could start leaking and damage the camera. But when the battery was not used for a longer period, please charge it before using it again.
This could help you to keep your batteries in better condition and let them live longer.

How long should I charge battery for 12 volt Model

Those batteries should charge up in an hour, some maybe longer, but if takes longer than that, and they still don't charge, they are shot.

LG Viewty battery discharges quickly .....

Charging duration does not connect to battery lasting duration in any way.Optimal charging time is 3 to 4 hours.your battery will drain soon if you keep your touchscreen pressed continuously in your jeans pocket.Keep bluetooth switched off. Reduce the brightness of your mobile display. Play music threw headphone rather than using loudspeakers.

How long should I let my battery recharge?

If you have the PS130 12v Battery, and the one-hour rapid charger from Black and Decker, then, in theory, it should only take an hour to charge the battery (according to them). However, I would leave the battery on charge for at least several hours to guarantee a full charge each time. That battery is a NiCad cell battery, and these typically take longer to reach a full capacity charge. So give it a few hours at least, but it probably wont hurt it if you left the battery on charge even overnight either... But don't let them charge for longer than 18 hours maximum!

Charging batteries

Hi Ava, thanks for coming to FixYa.

It is not good to leave your battery on the charger longer than 2 hours. Depening on your battery type, it should not take longer than 2 hours to charge up.
If you leave it on longer than that, it will get too hot, and might make a fire hazard. Also, the hotter the battery gets, it lessens the life of the battery.
Most battery chargers will not automatically turn off, so you should monitor the charging time.

Thanks for coming to FixYa. If you have any other questions, you can leave me a comment.

My unit just shuts off and will not turn on again until I plug it in as if to recharge the battery. I checked the battery when I first turned it on and it said the battery was fully charged.

Hi there!

It probably does need a battery replacement.

Even though it may show fully charged, and even test as fully charged, it may no longer have the capacity to deliver it for any sustained period.

If you think of a comparison between a 12V car battery, and a 12V alarm battery. Both show full charge, and the same output voltage, the difference is the available plate area. This is reduced due to degredation, and will no longer provide the same output.

Hope this helps.

If you want to make the battery last longer, charge for the recommended time (as was the first charge), then run the battery right down before charging.

If this solves the issue, Please rate as Fixya! thanks.
