ABB2527DEB is there an answer to the problem of a working freezer and a non working frig (top)? The freezer developed a frost on the top of the door a few days prior to the top going warm. This unit is 4-5 years old. Thanks for any assistance.

Air from the freezer is blown into the fridge by a fan, some new type frigs have electronic controls that open and close a vent to frig. the older ones have two vents in the frig from the freezer and when covered with frost or ice the air will not reach the frig. check for ice or just defrost the freezer if there is ice or frost, also check for food or plastic over vents in freezer. Also check that the freezer fan is running as these sometimes become blocked or defective motor.
niether. is there frost on back wall of freezer? if no look behind back wall and see if there is frost on all the coils when running. if less than 80% is frosty...freon. or is there frost covering back panel..if so then defrost problem would be correct. but side would be warm so I think not.
hi!!! You seem to have a problem with your evaporator fan motor or the defrost mechanism on the frig. That the defrost timer..Listen manually turn of your refrigerature and turn it on again when all the ice melts away if the fan work or runs then its your defrost timer on the frig.Easy fix man..Good luck..
Val sounds like a defrost problem..go ahead and defrost your freezer again... check your evaporator drain your fan motors let let me know and I can help you Krazytech
Is your fan blowing in the freezer?
Frost on the back wall of the freezer usually indicates a defrost problem... defrost themostate, heaters, take back panel off and check evap for frost build up and if your fan in working.
