SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player Logo

MSD mode Ok, whenever i turn on my sansa e250, it loads normally, but then a red box pops up that says "Not enough space for music DB. Please free 6MB." I tried reseting it by turning on hold, holding rec. and turning it on. I followed that procedure, but now i need to update it or something. It is currently in MTP mode and i need it to be in MSD. How do i get it into MSD mode? Essentially, i want to reset the whole thing to factory settings and condition. As in, blank.

Magnosta,

On the e250, from the main menu, select Settings, then there should be a selection for USB Mode. From there, you can select either MTP mode or MSC mode, which I think is what you meant. See if that helps.

Remove the microSD card, then connect the player to your computer and delete stuff from its internal memory until you have 6MB free.

Music is not workin

I jumped the gun on my earlier advice - the format function was not on this particular Sansa. Go to the Settings Menu of the Sansa and change the USB Mode to MSC mode or MTP mode - whichever one it is on now, change it.

Not enough space?

Format the player from the Sansa itself - directions are in the manual - and reload songs onto the player.

Sansa m230

whenever i turn on my sansa m230 mp3 player, it displays the message, "not enough space for music DB, please free 8mb." And so i plug it into my friends computer and when i open the music folder on the device, its empty, even though it says that there is quite a bit of space used up. Do you have any answers?.

No Song ..? O.o

Sounds like something nasty got on there. Try setting USB Mode to MSC (mass storage class) and running virus and spyware scans on the device as a disk drive.

MP3 needs to refresh DataBase?

You have to many songs a sansa e 250 only holds a certain amount of space so your best bet is to buy a memory card or delete songs so you can add new ones.

Sansa e250

make sure the mode of the player is in MTP or if you have a version 2 player the default mode is MTP. If you are receiving an error about "Not Enough Space for Music DB please free 6mb" when turning on the player. Format the player using windows explorer and the mode should be in MSC.
