Review the media loading instructions in your owner's manual.

You've likely overlooked something.

I'm getting a "ribbon in" error when printing Direct thermal, and there is no ribbon installed. Any ideas? The error occurred when the end users changed the label roll. Labels are loaded correctly, and...

Locate your printer driver under devices and printers Right click on it and select "Printing Preferences"

Choose the "Advanced Setup" tab

Change media type to "Direct Thermal"

Be sure that "use printer settings" is NOT selected at the top left

Click OK and you should be good.

Note that any labels created prior to this change will need to be changed inside each label under the label setup.

Hello my fax machine keeps giving me error codes how do I fix this, I need my fax machine. thank you

Hit the setup button, select fax setup or setup fax, and make sure the option to "Junk" fax blocker is off. The default when you setup the machine itself is on yes. This helped me with my "error 410" message I received when printing fax log.

Hello, my ez-label printer will not print...it makes a noise as if it is printing but the tape does not move.

You may find that the print head assembly is not engaging correctly. This could be due to a build up of adhesive on the print head or roller assy. Clean the print head area to remove any adhesive residue . Also ensure that the tape cartridge is located correctly and that the cutter blade is fitted correctly as the tape can catch on this.

Hope this helps.

Zebra 105SL label issues

I am surprised that you are using that sequence of buttons to solve this problem. I am pretty sure that they want you to go into the "Media Sensor Calibration" setup in the config menu. It is a bit more complicated than what you have described. I also believe that the size of the gap on two of your labels might be out of tolerance (they are usually 1/8" gaps between the labels). The black marks are a problem for the transmissive sensors. You may need to move the transmissive media gap sensor (remember it has two parts: upper and lower). I would usually setup mine for a place beyond the black mark so that you are looking at just the white paper.

To start out:
1. Load the backing of a 6" strip of media (no label attached).
2. Remove a ribbon (if you usually use one).
3. Close the printhead.
4. Press SETUP/EXIT and then NEXT/SAVE until "Media and Ribbon Calibrate" appears.
5. Press "+" to start the calibration procedure. You should see the "Load Backing" in the LCD Display. You already have the backing loaded so continue to the next step.
6. Press "+" to answer the message and the next screen should say, "Remove Ribbon". You have also removed the ribbon.
7. Press the "+" to continue. You should see the screen say, "Calibrating Please Wait". After the sensors are setup by the machine a new screen should appear, "Reload All".
8. Open the printhead, and move the labels until they are loaded correctly to print. Smooth out the ribbon and load it correctly.
9. Withe media and ribbon now loaded, press "+" to continue and the machine should say, "Media and Ribbon Calibrate".
10. Press the Setup/Exit button once. It should say, "Save Changes Permanent". Press Next/Save to finish the process.
11. Do a normal calibration of your stock and print a label.

You are done. The machine will run for the labels you have setup the sensors for. Unfortunately, you must do this for each of the media types. To automate this, you could run a Configuration listing, capture the settings you just created for each type of label. Take these to a programmer to have them send the setup to the machine before the job. This is beyond the scope of this type support to really help you.

Labels are not printing correctly

Brother P-Touch tape label maker doesn't print right.

I believe it's a faulty tape. I put in a new tape, reset the machine and it's now printing fine. It wasn't the reseting - I tried that before.

Paper feed

The feed rollers are slipping on the surface of the label, causing the page to load incorrectly. There is no permanent solution at this time. Try one of the following workarounds to correct this issue. Workarounds Workaround 1 Adjust the top margin using Page Setup.
  1. Click File , then Page Setup in the program being used, (accessing Page Setup may vary from program to program. Refer to the Help file for that program).
  2. Adjust the top margin until printing is correct on the label.
Workaround 2 Manually print one sheet at a time. Place one sheet of labels in the input tray at a time, printing only that page. Repeat for all pages of labels needed.

Printing Round Labels

the issue sounds inpart to be related the set lable length, the printer thinks that the data will not fit on the label and gives the error. also note that the gap sensor is not in the center so the printer will not and can not autodetect the media correctly. you need to tweak the label setup. you could trick the printer by centering the labels over the gap sensor or if you do a autocalibating use the lable size it give you which would be much smaller then 17mm
