Mp3 has a mind of its own

As you did not mentioned the product name I can't direct you to the software or download location. However, you can try to format your mp3 player keeping in mind that you need to create a backup of all songs first. Most of the mp3 players start working properly once formatted..

try checking every five minutes and turn it on.

if the player can turn on, try changing the protocal settings from the settings menu on the player and see if that works

Bad battery, send to Apple for repair.

I had this problem, but with Shuffle on and Hold off, I was able to update the player's memory.

On first use, charge 12 hous. Following uses, charge 6 hours.

Try a "hard reset". Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to shut off. With the device off, press and hold the vol + and the center select button. Power it back on, see if that works. You can add to the question if you have more questions. Best of Luck.

Make sure the songs are in the right format. Napster is a real bear about disappearing songs - try another music svc.
